“How do you know that?”: Unaware Chris Pratt Couldn’t Believe The Detail His Guardians of the Galaxy Co-Star Knew About Him
In the Guardians of the Galaxy films, Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña played Star-Lord and Gamora, respectively. The two actors have a strong friendship that has consistently astounded audiences with how effectively they work respectfully together.
The most recent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 film, which was directed by James Gunn, who is now co-CEO of DC Studios, was hailed as a box office success and received favorable reviews from both the public and the critics. When asked about her and Chris Pratt’s connection both on and off-screen, Zoe Saldaña has always commended him for his work ethic and declared him to be one of her favorite actors. Zoe Saldaña surprised Chris Pratt by answering a question about him right
Ahead of the release of MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 3, 2023, cast members of the movies including Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña were busy promoting the movie and during an interview, the lead pair’s bond was put to a test.
During an interview with Unilad, the actors played a game of how well they know each other, and one of the questions that Chris Pratt asked Zoe Saldaña was the color of his eyes, to which the actress, without any hesitation, said, “Green. Sometimes it’s hazel but they are green.”
The answer from the actress surprised the actor, who asked Saldaña, “I didn’t even know that, how do you know that? That’s incredible.” Pratt jokingly called Saldana obsessed with him. The duo have worked together for almost ten years now and, according to Saldana, they pay attention to their co-stars, which is how she knows him.
Zoe Saldaña on Gamora’s complicated love story with Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord
Before the last part of GOTG 3 was released, during a press conference in Bristol, Paris, the actors were asked about their characters, to which Saldaña said,
“It has been truly refreshing and interesting to enact this love story because I don’t know who that man is, I don’t have any shared experiences to draw on, yet he feels so familiar. This confusion makes it an unconventional love story, but it is still a love story. There is an ongoing chemistry between them, even though she still finds it annoying at first when she meets him again (laughs).”
Whereas Chris Pratt said that all the characters in GOTG 3 are so damaged and then Peter Quill/Star-Lord gets to witness how Gamora became a better, happier, and more fulfilled person through their relationship, but also through the love of her family, the Guardians of the Galaxy. He added,
“As a guy who desperately loves her, he wants her to recapture that so badly.”
Chris Pratt on being connected with the Guardians of the Galaxy family
Back in May 2023, the actor who was gearing up to bid adieu to his superhero character Star-Lord and the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy as the final part of the trilogy was set to release, Chris Pratt spoke to People and shared that the friendship between them was going to stay.
He said at the time, “I know the text threads will keep going and stay strong. We’ll be checking in on each other, like weddings and families and all the life things that happen. We’ll be there for each other.”
James Gunn had revealed that Vol. 3 was going to be the last part of their space adventure even though the audience wanted more of it. He said in 2022, “This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians. I’m aware that the third film in most trilogies sucks, but that is not always the case. I just want to be true to the characters, the story and give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story.”
All the members of the cast have spoken highly about the actor spoke especially when the poll that went around for voting for Worst Hollywood Chris and Pratt’s names topped the list. Zoe Saldaña took to her social media to quote Tupac Shakur,
“No matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out, keep your head up, and handle it. Your family, friends, colleagues & everyone who’s ever crossed paths with you knows your heart and your worth!”
The director is now co-CEO of DC Studios and is working on Superman: Legacy, building a DC Universe and ending the DCEU.
