Hugh Jackman has been in the Hollywood entertainment industry for more than three decades and one of the most iconic characters that he has ever portrayed is Logan aka Wolverine in Marvel’s X-Men film series. This character earned him a Guinness World Record for having the longest career as a live-action Marvel character.
From being a voice actor to singing, the Scoop actor has left no stone unturned in show business. However, he once revealed the name of a movie that he found quite fascinating as a young boy. This movie happened to be one directed by the legendary director Steven Spielberg.
Hugh Jackman Was Impressed by Steven Spielberg’s Movie
From starring in the musicals The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables to the political drama The Front Runner, Hugh Jackman has proved his vast acting range. Additionally, some of his movies even feature him singing. Despite all that he has achieved, the actor specifically called two movies “game changers”.
During a feature with Rotten Tomatoes in which he disclosed the names of the five movies that he loves the most, Hugh Jackman labeled Michael Cimino’s The Deer Hunter and Steven Spielberg’s Raider of the Lost Ark which had grossed $339 million at the box office.
Speaking about his experience of watching the latter with his brother, Jackman said:
“It’s another game changer for me. I saw it when I was 12, I think. 11 or 12. I just remember saying to my brother, ‘I didn’t know movies could make me feel like this.’ So it transported me. I believed in it. It was fun, it was funny. I was on the edge of my seat — everything about it. I remember saying to him, ‘I didn’t know movies could make me feel like this.’”
Jackman also spoke of his experience of watching Michael Cimino’s The Deer Hunter. He said that he was 15 years old when he watched the film for the first time and he found it mind-blowing since it made him realize what could be achieved in the acting profession.
Hugh Jackman Has No Problem in Being Nice
Success often gets to the heads of actors making them arrogant or ignorant; consequently, they begin to mistreat their fans. Hugh Jackman stands as an exception to this. In fact, he has often been praised by his fans and co-stars for his easy-going and kind nature.
During his interview with Rotten Tomatoes in which he was promoting The Front Runner, Hugh Jackman was asked if he ever found maintaining his reputation as the nice guy difficult. The Prestige graciously said that he did not find it difficult at all because of how his parents had raised him to be polite, appreciative, and nice.
Jackman explained why people thought he was nice. He said that actors are often assumed to be arrogant. So, by doing the bare minimum, he easily passes for being the nice guy. He insisted that what people actually mean is that he is a nice guy for a movie star.
