The Logan star Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness initially met on the set of the Australian TV series Corelli, and since then the co-stars have been inseparable until their divorce. Fans couldn’t believe it after encountering the news of Jackman and his former wife Deborra-Lee Furness’s divorce, as the couple was well known for sticking to each other for more than two decades. There have been challenges in Jackman and Furness’ relationship which led them to break the knot. An insider told Daily Mail:
“They worked on it and couldn’t get it back. The strikes haven’t helped one bit, it got them in the same predicament as COVID did, to where they were just kicking the tires, and Hugh found it all to not have the same magic as they once had.”
Hugh Jackman’s marriage was affected by the Hollywood Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike as informed by the insider, they met ups and downs and tried to stick with each other which couldn’t help and finally, the exes came to the conclusion of getting divorced. Jackman and Furness both share a respectful bond and even after their divorce, they chose to be on good terms. The X-Men star and Shame star share two adopted children, son, Oscar and daughter Eva. The Australian actors married in 1996 and separated in 2023.

It was in April when Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness celebrated their long cherished journey together before the Hollywood Writers Guild of America (WGA) took place. Hughman appreciated his then-wife with an Instagram post, praising Furness’ loyalty and courage in their marriage, and expressing gratitude for the beautiful family they share. There were problems between Jackman and his then-wife during COVID-19 but they weathered the storm. The couple announced the friendly conclusion of their marriage in a statement shared exclusively with PEOPLE on Sept. 15.
“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the statement read. The pair added that their family is their “highest priority,” and requested privacy as they navigate “this transition in all of our lives.”
After crossing paths on the sets of Correlli in 1995, Jackman knew that Deborra-Lee Furness was the one. Furness then was an acclaimed actress and is thirteen years older than Jackman. The former couple had an immediate connection after meeting each other and they married in 1996. Jackman has been thankful for his wife and children while receiving awards and has often acknowledged them for supporting the actor. Even though the actors are no longer a couple, they share a friendly bond.
