Dave Bautista is truly one of the best and now has Kevin Feige‘s stamp of approval. Ahead of the release of Vol. 3, the cast is seen promoting the movie, including James Gunn and Kevin Feige. “Dave Bautista, who I think — I watched the movie last night, and we were talking [earlier] about moments that tear us up. When he watches — I’m not gonna give anything away, but he gives an expression in the movie. And I literally am like, not only is Drax one of the best characters in the MCU, written by James, but I think Dave Bautista has become one of the best actors that we’ve ever gotten. And I just wanted to give that shout out.”

Dave Bautista will miss playing Drax the Destroyer

His first appearance as Drax the Destroyer was in the 2014 movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Ever since then, the character of Drax was an instant fan favorite, and Bautista’s portrayal of the character was praised by both fans and critics. Drax’s not-so-witty one-liners and his portrayal of the powerful warrior who is also a certified ‘softie’ on the inside resonated with the masses. He further went on to reprise his role as Drax in numerous MCU movies, Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame to name a few. This successfully turned the character and the actor into a household name.

When the final part of the movie was announced he expressed his disappointment with Collider stating,

“I’m not happy about it, but I understand why they’re doing it. They’re gonna wrap up Guardians, and then everybody’s gonna move on. It’s a bittersweet kind of feeling.”

In another interview with Screen Rant, he said,

“I would play Drax until they tell me there’s no more Drax.”

Therefore, the character is undoubtedly a very special part of his life. After all that was the boost that helped him score some pretty notable movies such as Dune, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Blade Runner 2049, and most recently M. Night Shyamalan’s latest, Knock at the Cabin. Therefore, Feige’s comments on the actor were true indeed, as Dave Bautista has a lot in store for his fans.
