‘I apologize for yelling at you’: Britney Spears’ Apologizes to Nickelodeon Co-Star Alexa Nikolas, Blames Mom for Not Stopping Her from Yelling at Nikolas
Britney Spears has dealt with extreme conditions that she experienced during her conservatorship era. Now that she is freed from the boundaries, she has been trying to fix things that went bitter during that time. She is one of the most influential artists who is credited for the revival of teen pop during the late 1990s. The 40-year-old singer has recently apologized to Alexa Nikolas for yelling at her on the sets of Zoey 101. The latter had recently detailed the traumatizing experience she encountered with the singer.
Alexa Nikolas Shared Her Traumatic Experience With Britney Spears on Zoey 101 Show
The 30-year-old actress Alexa Nikolas on Tuesday’s episode of Christy Carlson Romano’s Vulnerable podcast shared her experience during her association with Nickelodeon. During that show, she recalled having a traumatic experience with the pop star Britney Spears on the set of Nickelodeon’s hit show Zoey 101.
The former played the role of Nicole Bristow on the comedy show starring Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of the latter for two seasons. She recalled that a talent coordinator told her that she is being taken to get her hair and makeup done however brought her to the singer to talk to the latter.
She recalled that the Piece of Me singer started yelling at her for allegedly bullying her younger sister.
“It wasn’t OK because I was a 12, 13-year-old. But in retrospect, knowing the dynamic that was in place for her, I think, of course, that’s what ended up happening,” Nikolas shared.
However, she added that the singer had apologized to her after that incident. She continued, “And I think, like, oh my God, poor Britney. She is in a horrible situation there.”
She further continued, “And she was like eight months pregnant, so she was hormonal, too.” She recalled that the singer was “rubbing her belly while she was yelling, and it was like she was trying to calm herself.”
She added, “And you could just tell, it was very unhinged in a way that felt… like someone was manipulating her.”
Even after apologizing for yelling at the then-child actor, Spears went on to Twitter once again to express her thoughts on the past incident.
Britney Spears Publicly Apologized to Alexa Nikolas on Twitter
In a lengthy post on Twitter on Thursday, Spears shared her thoughts on the confrontation she had with Nikolas. Not just that, she issued a public apology to share her sincerity. She stated, “Although I have apologized to you personally just by ‘instinct’ my heart at the time didn’t know how incredibly good my family was with the ACTING LANGUAGE!!!”
The pop star shared that her “little sister” Jamie Lynn Spears came to her stating that she was bullied on set at that time.
She continued, “My sister was literally like my daughter growing up,” adding, “So I apologize for my ignorance for yelling at you when I obviously had no idea what was really going on !!!”
The pop star also pointed out that her mother “should have immediately stepped in” and taken over the situation instead of just “observing” their kids behind the scenes. Nikolas accepted the superstar’s heartfelt apology adding that the Hold Me Closer singer has been her “biggest inspiration and honestly always have been.”
While the singer also opened up about the actress giving her strength to open up about her struggles with her conservatorship that ended in November 2021.
