In 2022, Kim Kardashian publicly bashed Balenciaga over an ad campaign including children holding teddy bear bags while wearing outfits that looked like bondage gear. Following the campaign, the mother of four was highly criticized and was urged to speak about it. When Kardashian spoke about Balenciaga’s campaign, she expressed concern about children and mentioned denouncing her relations with them.

However, what has earned attention isn’t about Kim Kardashian becoming an ambassador of one of the biggest brands, but it’s about being an ambassador of the fashion house whom she publicly criticized in 2022 due to one of their ad campaigns including children.

The billionaire expressed concerns about children’s safety and mentioned that the images haunted her. The campaign included kids holding bear bags in outfits that resembled bondage gear. People urged Kim Kardashian to speak against the campaign, and when she researched what was the matter about, the actress criticized the brand. During the Angie Martinez IRL Podcast, Kardashian said:

“As soon as I saw what everyone was seeing on the internet and the reality of the situation, I completely spoke out and gave my thoughts on child porn and completely denounced it.” 

The media personality also mentioned that she was “re-evaluating” her relationship with Balenciaga after being extremely concerned about protecting children from such campaigns. However, despite Kim Kardashian calling out the fashion house, people didn’t stop criticizing her for not using strong language against Balenciaga.

Following the social media outrage and Kim Kardashian calling out the brand, Balenciaga took off the ads and filed a lawsuit against people involved in the children’s ad campaign. The brand also filed a lawsuit against the fashion designer and the production company that handled the campaign. However, Balenciaga later withdrew from taking legal action.

Balenciaga Has Been a Part of Kim Kardashian’s Looks For Years

Now that Kim Kardashian is back with Balenciaga, in her recent statement she explained her relationship with the brand and also mentioned it being a part of her looks for several years. According to the official website of Balenciaga, Kardashian statement reads:

“For several years now, Balenciaga’s designs have been a part of my many looks — and some of my most iconic fashion moments. This historic fashion house embraces modernity, craftsmanship and takes an innovative approach to design under Demna.”

The social media personality emphasized their mutual trust and commitment. She added:

“For me, this long-standing relationship is built on mutual trust and a commitment to doing what’s right. I’m excited about this next chapter for the brand and to become their ambassador.”

The 43-year-old actress has been a fan of the brand and its creative director. Kim Kardashian has also been a part of numerous runway shows, and she’s closely related to Balenciaga, the businesswoman has openly expressed her thoughts in the statement.
