“I couldn’t say how they’ll react”: Loki 2 Producer Expresses His Concern Over Jonathan Majors’ Arrest

After encountering Jonathan Majors‘s character as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, fans might be speculating if the actor would continue to portray the villain in Season 2 after he was initially arrested in March and charged with alleged misdemeanor assault. Despite, the controversies and public attention Majors is all set to reprise his role in Loki 2.
Loki Season 2 executive producer Kevin Wright has expressed his concerns over the actor’s arrest and speculations about Majors’s role in the ongoing season. The producer revealed that no changes were made to the storyline despite Jonathan Majors’s arrest as they stuck to the original plan. In an interview with Buzzfeed, the producer stated:
“I couldn’t say how they’ll react. My hope is they are engrossed by the story and not only his performance but all the performances.”
Wright affirmed that “it is a complicated situation,” but as the makers stood with the original plan, they hoped that the performances in the ongoing season would engage the audience. The producer shared with Variety, that things were uncertain regarding Jonathan’s case, so they did not discuss reducing the actor’s role at any point.
Jonathan Majors’s role as Kang the Conqueror is said to become more villainous in the ongoing season and if the makers had reduced his role due to the allegations, it would have not only impacted Loki 2 but other MCU projects as well. Therefore, as the MCU is a complex interconnected universe and during this tough time for the actor, the production team avoided making hasty decisions.
Jonathan Major’s Assault Allegations and Legal Defence
Jonathan Majors undeniably has been struggling since his initial arrest in New York on March 25, 2023, under charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. It was reported that the victim who reported to a 911 call, claimed that she sustained injuries to her head and neck. Following this arrest, there came other allegations on Majors claiming that the Marvel actor had victimized his co-workers.
Following the rising controversies, the Devotion star’s career faced significant challenges. Majors was removed from the ad campaigns for the United States Army and the Texas Rangers and his role in the movie The Man in My Basement was severely affected.
However, the Ant-Man star’s lawyer Priya Chaudhry claims that Jonathan Majors is innocent of all charges and states that Majors is the individual who is being victimised by the woman who made allegations against the actor. The lawyer emphasizes on the actual visuals of the incident that will prove that Jonathan Majors is not guilty.
According to Variety, a new hearing for the actor is set for October 25. The Creed III actor hasn’t appeared in person at all hearings and his legal team has sought a motion to dismiss the case and would want to start a legal case against the first person who accused Jonathan Majors.
