American socialite Kim Kardashian tries her best to keep her ex-husband involved with their four children despite their divorce settlement. After mutually finalizing their divorce on November 29, the couple avoided a scheduled December 2022 court trial. Amid his ongoing controversies, the rapper and the reality star agreed to co-parent their four kids. The Kardashians star will receive a monthly child support payment of $200,000 from Ye West, formerly known as Kanye West, as per their agreement, and the two will share joint custody of their four children, and neither will pay the other spousal support.
Nevertheless, Kim Kardashian appears to be having difficulty co-parenting with her ex-husband as things do not seem to go according to plan. During a podcast, the mother of four was in tears as she admitted that sharing co-parenting responsibilities with Kanye West was challenging, yet asserted that she has never spoken negatively of him to her children.
Kim Kardashian Faces Challenges In Co-Parenting With Kanye West
The 42-year-old reality star Kim Kardashian appeared on Monday on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast. During the interview, the American socialite opened up about what it is like to co-parent with her ex-husband Kanye West and the difficulties it can bring. It has been nearly one month since the controversial rapper and SKIMS founder finalized their divorce, and now the SKIMS founder has given a view on the dynamic between the two when it comes to their four children, North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
Although she has shielded her children from the public trials and tribulations that the former power couple has gone through, she began to cry when she compared their lives to hers as a child raised by late attorney Robert Kardashian.
The Kardashians star said in the podcase’s latest episode,
“I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids, for my kids. So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on in the outside world.”
While tears in her eyes, she said,
“I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional. It has just been a day for me. It’s hard. S*** like co-parenting, it’s really f***ing hard, you know.”
During their sit-down, she recalled her childhood memories and relationship with her late father, Robert Kardashian. She said,
“Yeah, but I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the greatest experience, and that’s all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them, you know.”
“So, like, if they don’t know things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them? You know, that’s like really heavy, heavy grown-up s***. That they are not ready to, like, deal with.”
“And when they are, we will have those conversations, and I’ll be so prepared, but until then, I will do anything to keep their life as normal as possible.”
Kim K is trying to ensure that Ye remains involved in their children’s lives, as per a source who shared insights into their co-parenting relationship nearly three weeks ago.
Kim Kardashian Wants Kanye West To Stay In Touch With Their Children
After Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, the couple eventually headed for a peaceful divorce based on mutual agreements. He has flung his frustration on social media at Kim K, the Kardashian family, and her ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson after they haven’t spoken publicly about the split yet. The rapper complained about being excluded from their children’s birthday parties and other events and needing more power to make major parenting decisions. Despite his current controversies, Kim K proved his complaints wrong when she invited him to their son Saint’s 7th birthday party, indicating that Saint is close to his father.
While Kim K is doing her best to keep his image reasonable in front of her kids, Kanye West, on the other hand, has been spouting antisemitic rhetoric on almost any platform he can get his hands on for the past few months to burn his reputation and business relationships. Kim K wants to keep it simple and realistic when co-parenting their kids, but it appears that Ye has other plans to make things more difficult for himself and others.
