“I didn’t fall into that trap”: Brooke Shields Reveals Hollywood Couldn’t Break Her Despite Preying on So Many Others
The more you discover about Brooke Shields’s life, the more you are in awe of how many sacrifices she must have made to survive all those horrific incidents. The 1965-born American actress-model started her modeling career when she was a young child and has since lived a public life. She played the lead role in Louis Malle’s 1978 film Pretty Baby, about a young prostitute in early 20th-century New Orleans, when she was just eleven years old.
Now, even at the age of 57, she still maintains that courageous face. She has been married to television writer Chris Henchy for more than ten years now. She is a devoted mother of two girls and is about to film a romantic comedy in Thailand with Benjamin Bratt.
All of that stands in stark contrast to Shields’ tumultuous, scrutinized, and occasionally terrifying life as one of the most well-known figures on the planet. This rollercoaster journey is the subject of the two-part documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, which was made available on Hulu on Monday.
This documentary examines issues like her troubled Hollywood career, her relationship with her alcoholic manager/mother, Teri Shields, postpartum depression, her n*de scenes at age 11, and a casting meeting r*pe.
Brooke Shields in Her Bombshell Revelation
The documentary, Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields, is named after the infamous Louis Malle movie from 1978 that saw Brooke Shields’s character of a young prostitute. The documentary’s world premiere was held at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It examines how women are being s*xualized, which, according to Shields, has gotten worse in the age of self-posted TikTok videos that are frequently very risqué.
In the trailer, the 57-year-old actress discussed her belief that 30 years ago in this industry, no one would believe her claims. The documentary seems to be a thorough examination of how she changed people’s perceptions of her as a young girl by playing s*xualized roles in movies like Pretty Baby and The Blue Lagoon, which made her a fascinating subject.
She went into even more detail about how the entertainment industry works to give you exposure, money, and fame. In return, “you hear stories of so many young people who fall prey to addiction and lose their way,” she added.
“It was miraculous to me that I didn’t fall into those traps. But it was because I was caring for an alcoholic, and I saw what I did not want to become.”
She Was Also Honest About Losing Her Virginity to Fellow Actor
Brooke Shields has been in front of the camera since she was a young child. The model-actress has been working in commercials, movies, and sitcoms since before she could walk. However, she has complete control over the story she wants to tell the camera in her recent documentary, Pretty Baby, and she hasn’t held back.
In the second segment of the documentary, the Endless Love actress is frank about how she lost her virginity to fellow actor, Dean Cain. He is best known for playing Superman in the popular ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. The two met while attending Princeton University. She had even shared pictures of the two on her Instagram.
In her documentary’s archive footage, Shields is shown introducing Cain as the “special” person in her life while being interviewed live at school.
She has, however, previously spoken openly about her relationship with the Vendetta actor. In the documentary, Shields analyzes not only what occurred the night they shared their first kiss, but also what kind of relationship they might have had if certain circumstances had been different.
