There are a few things that immediately come to mind when Jason Momoa is brought up. One of them is that he loves appearing in projects that have anything to do with huge water bodies, no wonder his first acting role was as Jason Ioane in the action drama Baywatch: Hawaii. Not to mention his success as the DC Comics superhero Aquaman, the King of Atlantis, in the DC Extended Universe(DCEU).

Another thing that is very obvious about Jason Momoa is his strong and impressive physique, which has been seen in every single project of his. This is true concerning almost all of his appearances, from Game of Thrones to Aquaman. However, he recently revealed that he does not follow a strict diet to achieve his buffed-up body.

Most of the superhero movies and shows, whether they are from the Marvel Studios or the DC Studios, require the actors to be fit which can be incredibly physically demanding. This often sees the actors following strict diets to gain the desired physique.

This is where Jason Momoa has a different stance because while his physique is no lesser than that of a God’s, he does not believe in following strict diets. Ahead of the release of his upcoming movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the actor revealed his approach towards having a fit body.

During an interview with E! News‘ Francesca Amiker, Momoa said: “I don’t do calories, I just eat.” When asked what he eats, he had a straightforward answer:

“Everything. Because you’re burning so many calories, I just eat and consume. I’m constantly moving and work long days. I just shovel it in, and then work hard. Work hard, eat hard, play hard, just do it.”

The Fast X star went on to explain that he does not believe in changing his diet for a particular role, saying:

“I don’t really do it for vanity. It’s more so I don’t get hurt. You’ve got to be prepared. You’re putting on a suit that’s going to weigh 40 pounds. You’ve got to be able to move. That kind of action just puts a lot of weight on your knees. So, you just do it so you don’t get hurt.”

Jason Momoa’s logic is absolutely valid since making drastic changes in diets can affect a person’s body adversely. Numerous celebrities have pointed this out in the past.

In this movie, besides being a king, Arthur Curry will also be a husband and a father. Being a father himself, Momoa wants the audience to see this side of the character. Addressing this, he told E! News:

“It’s all things you never got to play in the last four films that I’ve done. I’m like, ‘People need to see this side of him.’ So that was my request, and I think people are going to really love it.”

Hopefully, this movie will be as successful as the first Aquaman. Although the character’s future in the franchise is uncertain, positive reactions to this movie might prove to be beneficial for it.
