Ellie Goulding recently discussed how she dealt with anxiety while she was pregnant and amid a Pandemic. Goulding explained in an Instagram post how difficult the year 2021 was for her because she was dealing with constant anxiety and panic attacks. Her depressive moods became so severe at times that the singer had to “numb” herself. Goulding and her partner Casper Jopling welcomed their first child, Arthur Ever Winter Jopling, in April 2021.

On 7 April 2023, Goulding released her new album Higher Than Heaven, and while discussing the inspiration for the album, the singer also discussed the mental health issues she faced.

The Lights singer says everyone she knows has anxiety

Ellie Goulding explained that she went through debilitating depression. The Lights singer said she kept running and spent most of her time exercising to make sure she stays away from anxiety. The singer said in her statement, 

It’s debilitating. I staved it off for years because I just exercised so much – I didn’t even notice because I was running so much. So when I stopped I was like, ‘Oh.'”

While discussing her battle with anxiety, Goulding mentioned that being pregnant during the pandemic had sent her nervous system into overdrive. Goulding, who is averse to taking medications, chose holistic solutions and lavender capsules to battle anxiety. The pop star also stated that everyone she knows suffers from anxiety. The I Need Your Love singer said, 

“Since the pandemic, I don’t know a single person, actually, who doesn’t have anxiety.”

The Love Me Like You Do singer tried a slew of methods to relieve her anxiety. She preferred a systematic approach and tried slower movements such as stretching to relieve her tension.

Arthur, Goulding’s 2-year-old son, was one of the most beautiful things that happened to her in 2021. Although the singer struggled with anxiety before giving birth to her son, for Goulding, the year 2021 brought both blessings and challenges. The singer explained how her son changes her “every hour, actually!” Her son inherits his mother’s love of singing. 

The Burn singer discussed the inspiration behind her recently released new album. Higher Than Heaven. Goulding’s new album was scheduled to be released on March 24, 2023, but the singer and producers decided to move the date to April 7, 2023. The singer explained the inspiration behind her new album, saying,

I think it was a reaction to the f***ing lockdown. I didn’t want to write any ballads.”

In the interview, Goulding also talked about her love for classical music and how she always had an inclination toward classical music. The singer said,

“I’ve loved classical since I was 11 or 12, when my grandfather gave me a compilation called, like, Classical Chill Out or something. That’s when I fell in love with it – I’d never heard that stuff before, I grew up listening to rave and dance music so I just didn’t really know it existed.”

Ellie Goulding’s new album is receiving a lot of positive comments online. The songs from her album are trending and the pop star has also mentioned that although she loves classical music, she will stick to pop music for a while.
