“I don’t know if he wants kids at 25”: Priyanka Chopra Reveals Why She Froze Her Eggs After Her Insecurities With 10 Years Younger Nick Jonas
The path to motherhood was also a lesson in empowerment for Priyanka Chopra. In a recent podcast, the mother of Malti Marie Jonas spoke candidly about freezing her eggs in her early 30s. The winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant revealed her reasons why she chose surrogacy to become a mother in 2022.
The actress from the recently released film Love Again opened up about her journey to motherhood in an episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast that was made public on March 27. She also discussed her choice to freeze her eggs in her early 30s. The interview was conducted a little over a year after Chopra gave birth to her first child with the Sucker singer.
Despite pointing out how expensive it is, she also urged those who wanted children to save money for the procedure, which they can do whenever they want. The couple got married in 2018 and had Malti Marie Jonas on January 15, 2022. She is now 14 months old.
Why Did Priyanka Chopra Freeze Her Eggs?
Priyanka Chopra spoke about her transition from Bollywood to Hollywood during the interview, as well as her experience as an immigrant from India to the United States.
Chopra acknowledged that her road to fame had its own challenges, but she claimed that by freezing her eggs, she had one less worry while pursuing an acting career. The star is appreciative of her choice in the past and the relief she felt after stopping her biological clock. She said, “I felt such freedom.”
There was never any doubt in the 40-year-old actress’ mind regarding whether or not she would have children. She told Dax Shepard, “I always knew I wanted kids.” The global icon was more interested in finding the ideal companion to share parenthood duties with.
She added that the search was “anxiety-inducing” and that if she were to have a child with him, “you have to know that you can handle this person for the rest of your life.”
Nick Jonas’ wife continued by explaining why she was hesitant to date the American singer in 2018 and how his young age might interfere with her desire to start a family (Jonas is 30 and Chopra is 40 right now). She cited this as one of the main reasons she decided against dating Jonas. “I was like, ‘I don’t know if he wants kids at 25,’ at that time. But I’ve always wanted kids. I love kids.”

She Followed the Advice of Her Ob-Gyn Mother and Froze Her Eggs
Before meeting Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra decided to freeze her eggs on the advice of her ob-gyn mother to give herself more time to reflect on her life and find the ideal partner.
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) was where her infant daughter spent her first 100 or so days before coming home during the time for Mother’s Day.
She said, “I tell all my younger friends the biological clock is real. It gets so much harder to get pregnant after 35 and to carry to term, especially with women that have been working all their lives.”
In addition, the Baywatch actress said the experience is worthwhile for those who can afford the procedure, which can cost between $10,000 and $20,000. “It’s the best gift you’ll give yourself because you’re taking the power from your biological clock and you can work until however long you want.”
According to Forbes, egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, is the process of removing, freezing, and keeping a woman’s eggs. It enables a woman to put a stop to her biological clock and store her eggs until she is ready to conceive.
