Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become a global sensation with their relationship and their choice to step down from their senior roles in the British Royal Family. However, recent reports point out that their marriage may be causing tension within the royal household. Grant Harrold, a former royal staffer, has expressed his pity for Prince Harry after Meghan Markle’s actions put him in an uncomfortable situation at King Charles’ coronation.

King Charles Former Staffer Felt Awkward For Prince Harry At Coronation Ceremony

The palace had confirmed before the event that only Prince Harry would be attending King Charles’ coronation ceremony.

The Duchess of Sussex stayed behind in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as their son’s birthday fell on the same day as the coronation.

After the 38-year-old arrived at Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, cameras captured the Duke of Sussex smiling and laughing with his cousins and other family members.

However, someone who knew Prince and had worked for the king, Grant Harrold, believed that the prince must have felt awkward attending the royal event alone. He shared,

“Watching Harry walk up on his own because that’s how the procession goes, I felt awkward for him. With everything that has gone on, there’s no way … he must have felt awkward. When he came out, obviously Beatrice and Eugenie got on with Harry and were chatting with him. I don’t think other members of the royal family would have ignored him, there’s no way that they wouldn’t have acknowledged him.”

Harrold also had some questions about the major reason behind the father of two’s attendance. He thinks Prince Harry attended the coronation for his country, as he didn’t stay for long and left for the US to his family, right after the coronation ceremony was completed. He explained,

“When he left, there was a moment where Harry was on his own because he was returning [to the U.S.].”

Despite Prince Harry’s awkwardness, the coronation ceremony proceeded smoothly, and King Charles was crowned as the new monarch of Britain.

The coronation ceremony of King Charles III was a significant moment for the British Royal Family, and the Duke of Sussex was in attendance to see it through.

However, Prince Harry may have felt uncomfortable during the proceedings. The flame-haired rogue royal was seen awkwardly nodding at other guests and joking with Jack Brooksbank, his cousin, Princess Eugenie’s husband, as he awaited the ceremony to begin.

However, he was seated in the third row, behind his estranged brother, Prince William, and next to Princess Alexandra. As the ceremony commenced, the younger son of the royal family smiled awkwardly and appeared anxious, which was noted by many royal watchers.

The Duke’s discomfort did not go unnoticed, and some speculated about the possible reasons behind it. One commentator noted, “Harry looks fidgety and very uncomfortable,” while another suggested,

“Looks like he isn’t very comfortable being there. I wonder if it’s the itching powder on his chair. I bet he can’t wait to leave.”

Unfortunately, Prince Harry’s attendance at the coronation ceremony was undoubtedly a complicated decision, given the tension that exists within the Royal Family.
