“I hope it brings joy in another dark year”: Patty Jenkins Shares Heartwarming Views on Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Years
American filmmaker Patty Jenkins began her career in 2001 when she directed the movie Just Drives, which was followed by the movie Velocity Rules, which was also released in 2001. The latter revolves around a housewife who finds out that she is a superhero. However, she has to make the tough choice between living a life of excitement and her husband.
Patty Jenkins’ fascination with filmmaking and superhero movies specifically began at a young age. During a road trip from Kansas to San Francisco, her mother dropped her and her sister at a movie theater where they watched Christopher Reeve’s Superman. She got her chance to shine with a superhero movie in 2015 with the movie Wonder Woman. Recently, she wrote some really heartwarming words about the film’s sequel.
Patty Jenkins’ Heartwarming Words on Wonder Woman 1984
Patty Jenkins made her big screen debut as a director with the 2003 movie Monster, for which she wrote the script. This movie was one of the best movies of the year.
Jenkins almost made a superhero movie with Ryan Gosling but had to drop out of the project due to her pregnancy. Life gave another chance her when she signed on to make the DC Extended Universe film Wonder Woman (2017) which made her the female director with the highest-grossing movie until 2019 when she was overtaken by Frozen II and Captain Marvel.

Recently, a fan tweeted about Wonder Woman 1984 calling it a Christmas classic and thanking those who were involved in the movie. Patty Jenkins responded to the tweet, writing that she loved “that you and others are thinking of it as a Christmas movie now.”
I love that you and others are thinking of it as a Christmas movie now. It was to us, and I hope it brings joy in another dark year, for those that watch it. ❤️❤️ https://t.co/6zMlJpoguv

This message must be a touching moment for the fans who love the Wonder Woman film series. The movie continues to be one of the best DCEU movies to date.
Wonder Woman 3 is Not Going to Happen
All good things come in bunches of 3, but unfortunately, Wonder Woman will only have to stay as a duology. In December 2022, there were reports that the movie had been canceled because Patty Jenkins left the project due to creative differences.
Within a week, Jenkins took to X (formerly Twitter) to clear up the rumors. She wrote:
“I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.”

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn responded to Jenkins’s tweet writing that all interactions between him, the director, and co-CEO Peter Safran were professional.
