During a 2011 interview with the reputed media outlet New York Daily News, Jason Momoa spoke about Game Of Thrones, his character, and why he never wanted his then-wife Lisa Bonet to watch him getting intimate with Emilia Clarke. The Fast And Furious actor said-

“I didn’t want my wife to see Game of Thrones, and she ended up becoming obsessed. She was dreaming about it, she was so obsessed. It was like we didn’t go to the premiere. I was like, ‘I don’t do anything but do [co-star] Emilia Clarke for the first two episodes. I don’t even speak. We don’t need to go.’”

While talking about his co-star, He further said-

“You just have to disconnect, and it’s brutal. I love Emilia. She’s like a little sister. It’s not like when you’re doing stunts, where you’re just playing. She’s crying. It sucks,” 

No matter how hard Jason Momoa tried, his ex-wife ended up becoming one of the biggest fans of the reputed fantasy drama that she had started dreaming about the show. In the show, Jason Momoa’s character Khal Drogo is seen engaging in rough intimate scenes with his love interest played by Emilia Clarke. According to the actor, the character of Khal Drogo took a toll on him and sometimes he had to emotionally distance himself from the warlord of the Dothraki.

Emilia Clarke On Filming Nude Scenes With Jason Momoa

During an appearance on the Armchair Expert Podcast in 2019, Emilia Clarke opened up on the n*de scenes with Jason Momoa in the Game Of Thrones. The Me Before You actor called it terrifying too. She said-

“I took the job and then they sent me the scripts and I was reading them, and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s the catch!’”

While talking about the n*de scenes, the actor pointed out

“But I’d come fresh from drama school and I approached it as a job: if it’s in the script then it’s clearly needed.” But all that was indeed too much for her. She recollected, “I’ve never been on a film set like this before and I’m now on a film set completely naked with all of these people, and I don’t know what I’m meant to do, and I don’t know what’s expected of me, and I don’t know what you want, and I don’t know what I want.”

According to the actor, Jason Momoa was very helpful and considerate towards her during the filming of the intimate scenes. She further explained-

It’s only now that I realise how fortunate I was with that, because that could have gone many, many, many different ways. He was always like, ‘Can we get her a f****ng robe? She’s shivering!’ He was so kind and considerate and cared about me as a human being.”

According to Emilia Clarke, filming the intimate scenes was not even easy for Jason Momoa as he used to cry more the her after the shoot. With an IMDb rating of 9.2 out of 10, Game Of Thrones can be streamed on Amazon Prine Video by renting or purchasing.
