“I love my team”: Kelly Clarkson Refuses to Suffer Same Fate as Ellen DeGeneres, Fires Back at Toxic Workplace Allegations
American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson is the host of the Emmy-winning chat show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Recently, the show was slammed for reportedly creating a toxic environment at the workplace, due to which the employees felt overworked and underpaid.
Amid all the backlash the show received, Clarkson responded to it and claimed that she would ensure that there is a healthy work environment behind the scenes. Previously, comedian Ellen DeGeneres faced a similar situation when her talk show was terminated following a similar workplace environment.

The 41-year-old singer took to Instagram to show support for the employees of the show. She continued by stating:
“I love my team at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on this show is unacceptable.”
Further, the singer promised that she has always prolonged a safe environment at the show. She wrote,
“As we prepare for a move to the East Coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that not only for our team that is moving, but also [that] our new team in NY is comprised of the best and kindest in the business.”
Many employees of the show speculated that Clarkson was cognizant of the alleged mistreatment since she was guarded by it. An employee of the show claimed to a media house,
“NBC is protecting the show because it’s their new money maker, but Kelly has no clue how unhappy her staff is.”
Before sharing her response to the allegation, the singer faced severe criticism on social media as she promoted her upcoming song rather than addressing the allegation. A social media user wrote,
“Uhhhhh. Are you going to address what’s happening with your show? The toxic environment with the producers? The potential WGA violations involving producers writing your episodes? This is extremely concerning, honestly,”
Another social media user commented,
“You clearly don’t treat your workers well. They’re overworked, underpaid, and struggling with their mental health. RESIGN. Thankfully, your writers are currently striking against @nbc and hopefully will get you off the air not too long after. That’s what you deserve for not treating your workers properly.”
Another user condemned her post and reminded her to address the issue of her show, or else it will end with a similar fate as Ellen DeGeneres’ show. The user wrote,
“Please help get rid of the toxic environment behind the scenes. People are going to watch how you react to this situation now that you know what’s been going on. Please address it before your show becomes another Ellen.”
American comedian Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show ended because of similar workplace allegations.
Why did Ellen DeGeneres’ show end?
Ellen DeGeneres‘ talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, ended last year in May 2022. The show was terminated following allegations of toxic workplace conditions and increasing controversies. Reportedly, the show was accused of sexual misconduct and racial insensitivity in the work environment.
The show was renowned for its authenticity, but following these allegations, the image of the daytime TV show was severely harmed, and its ratings dropped as well. Due to this, the makers of the show decided to end the series. The show started in 2023 and aired for 19 seasons.
