With the promotions of the Margot Robbie starrer movie going in full swing, a lot has been spoken about Barbie in the media. One of the most interesting facts that came forward was that the Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot was the first choice for Margot Robbie’s character in Barbie.

Why Margot Robbie Feels Gal Gadot is A Real-Life Barbie?

During the casting of the multiple Barbies for the romantic -comedy, Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie were looking for someone who had a perfect combination of the famous Mattel doll’s beauty and cheerfulness. The director-actor went through multiple names from the entertainment industry but wanted to go ahead with Gal Gadot.

During an interview with the reputed media outlet Vogue, Margot Robbie spoke about Gal Gadot and the kind of Barbie energy the actor carries with her. She said-

“Gal Gadot is Barbie energy. Because Gal Gadot is so impossibly beautiful, but you don’t hate her for being that beautiful, because she’s so genuinely sincere, and she’s so enthusiastically kind, that it’s almost dorky. It’s like right before being a dork.”

Margot Robbie On Her Look-Alike Sex Education Star Emma Mackey

The Sex Education star Emma Mackey’s striking facial resemblance to Margot Robbie and her association with Barbie is something that cannot go unnoticed. The French-British actor is playing the role of physicist Barbie in the Greta Gerwig-directed movie.

During a recent interview with the media platform Buzzfeed, The Wolf Of The Wall Street actor was asked about her experience of working with her doppelganger, Emma Mackey. The actor replied-

“[Mackey] plays one of the Barbies in the movie pretty much because Greta and I thought it would be funny. We were gonna do this whole joke about us looking similar.”

“But once we got all dressed up as our Barbies, we were kind of like, ‘We don’t actually look that similar’. Like, when she’s got her brown hair and I’ve got my blonde hair, we don’t look that similar, so we didn’t put that joke in the movie.”

The Barbie star even said that whenever people come around telling her that they loved her work in the Sex Education series, she takes it as a compliment and says thank you with a broad smile. The plot of Barbie is not all pink and plastic as the stereotypical Barbie and Ken are sent to the real world where they get to experience the hardships of human beings.

Barbie is set to release in the theatres on July 21, 2023, worldwide.
