The crucial factor of the divorce was Bündchen’s protest to Brady to retire from his profession as an NFL player. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback did not pay heed to the protest which led to his ex-wife ultimately filing for divorce from him. He did take a brief retirement but only to un-retire after 11-days. Currently, the 7 times Super Bowl champion is back on the field.
In a recent interview, Brady opened up about life after the split. He shared that every player in the field had to deal with family and relationships woes. And for him, it was not something that should prevent one from playing and committing to their goals. The NFL player went on to admit that he did not regret his decision to return to the field as it was an important game for him and his team.
A look at Tom Brady’s Divorce from Gisele Bündchen
According to a report by TMZ, Gisele Bündchen had been threatening her ex-husband with a divorce years before it took place officially. An insider revealed that the major factor over which the arguments for separation happened was Tom Brady’s profession as an NFL player. According to the supermodel, she was concerned for Brady as playing on the field could lead to fatal injuries, especially on the head. Aside from the dangers, NFL’s schedules also did not sit right with Bündchen.
Due to his profession, Brady had to be away from home for 6 months straight at a time. And for the mother of two, this prevented the NFL quarterback to spend quality time with his family. That was the reason claimed by an insider, which finally led to the filing of the divorce. A source told US Weekly that before officially filing the divorce papers, Bündchen did give an ultimatum to her ex-husband. The source shared,
“Gisele told Tom either he leaves football to spend time with the family or she is gone for good,”
Brady clearly did not take heed of the ultimatum and he ended up choosing his profession over marriage. The ex-couple was announced to have officially separated in the month of October.
Tom Brady Reveals He Does not Regret His decision
After the 11-day retirement from NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has returned to the field. Following the divorce from ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, Brady had a poor start to the Season’s game. However, in a recent talk with ESPN, he shared that his team was glad for his return. Brady gave his reason for returning to the field by explaining that he returned because he felt like competing.
Further, as to his decision to choose football over marriage, the father of three answered,
“I don’t really regret those types of things — I think when I commit to it, I mean it, and I do my best and try to give everything I can to this particular opportunity,”
And although the star quarterback did previously reveal in a podcast that family woes had negative effects on his job. However, Brady admitted to having zero regrets over his decision to choose his profession and return to the game.
