“I succumbed to pressure from her”: Johnny Depp’s Best Friend Marilyn Manson Scores Major Win as Accuser Claims Evan Rachel Wood Forced Her to Testify Against Him
Following the widely publicized events in Johnny Depp’s life, Marilyn Manson, his best friend, is no longer a suspect after a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit alleging s*xual abuse. His ex-girlfriend, model, Ashley Morgan Smithline, allegedly made this accusation. Although the case was abruptly dismissed, the model still maintains that he assaulted her on multiple occasions.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, was reportedly charged with “childhood and adult s*xual abuse, s*xual battery, assault, and molestation” in a lawsuit that was filed in Long Island, New York. This lawsuit was filed in response to multiple abuse claims made by other women, prominently by his ex-girlfriend, actress Evan Rachel Wood.
As per new reports, the musician’s accuser, Ashley Morgan Smithline has since withdrawn her accusations of s*xual abuse against Manson and claimed that his ex-girlfriend, Wood “manipulated” her into making up the allegations in 2021.
Through his attorney, the say10 artist has “vehemently denied [all] claims of s*xual assault or abuse of anyone.” Besides, he filed a lawsuit against Wood alleging defamation, emotional distress, and other offenses.
He is yet to respond to the new lawsuit, which was filed in accordance with the New York Adult Survivors Act.
Marilyn Manson Denies Ashley Smithline’s Allegations of S*xual Abuse
Ashley Smithline’s new statement was submitted by the hitmaker’s attorneys in a Los Angeles court yesterday (Feb. 23) in connection with his defamation lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, and her partner Illma Gore.
In a declaration submitted on Thursday to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Smithline claimed that Wood and others had pressured her into making the claims, which she now says are “false.”
Smithline, who started a “brief, consensual s*xual relationship” with the 54-year-old celebrity in 2010, according to PEOPLE, was encouraged to “spread publicly false accusations of abuse” against him. The model admitted,
“I succumbed to pressure from her [Evan Rachel Wood] and her associates to make accusations of r*pe and assault against Mr. Warner that were not true. Eventually, I started to believe that what I was repeatedly told happened to Ms. Wood and [others] also happened to me.”
Many lawsuits with a similar theme were filed after Wood made allegations of abuse against Marilyn Manson public in February 2021. While in the Cake And Sodomy artist’s defamation lawsuit, he confirmed that Wood and Gore had “secretly recruited, coordinated, and pressured prospective accusers to emerge simultaneously” with false allegations against him.
The lawsuit was filed in March 2022.
