In his recent interview, Donald Trump’s closest and special UFC fighter, Colby Covington, called Conor McGregor  a” great leader” when asked if “he would be a good leader or not.”

On Friday, the 8th of December, Covington had a virtual interview with Harry David, where he talked about politics and MMA fighting, and told how Conor McGregor has an impact on MMA and UFC. 

The American Mixed Martial Art fighter also mentioned how McGregor is eligible to run for Ireland’s office due to his leadership qualities when Harry told him that McGregor once said he wanted to run for Ireland’s Presidency.

Colby Covington had a virtual interview for Mirror Fighting, where he was asked if he thinks that Conor McGregor would be a suitable candidate to run Ireland’s Presidential Office as the fighter once showed interest in doing so.

On this, Covington replied, “I think Conor would be a great leader.” He also said that Conor has “a lot of leadership and world championship qualities.” (Source: All Out Fighting on Youtube)

Conor McGregor is an Irish MMA and UFC(Ultimate Fighting Championship) fighter who started his 2008 when he fought against Garry Moris, whom he defeated with a second-round TKO. 

McGregor has been quite outspoken on numerous issues, including the current politics in his home country. He didn’t seem to be satisfied with the ongoing efforts by the current government as he showed interest in taking charge of Ireland’s presidency. 

He believes in “freedom, which is most important,” as Colby said in the Mirror Fighting interview. Colby also mentioned in the interview, how Conor doesn’t want to see his people getting killed and streets being burned down.

Colby said about McGregor in the “Mirror Fighting,” interview, calling him “one of the best fighters we’ve ever seen in the sport, the biggest fighter the sport has ever seen.” Similarly while sharing his views on politics, Covington also talked about Donald Trump, where he calls him the “best athlete alive” and also that Trump is “the best president we ever had in the history of America.” 

This shows how Colby respects Trump’s position as his country’s president and another fact is that Convington was the first MMA fighter to be invited to the White House, which was a special day and moment which he still cherishes.
