The 95th Academy Awards is on its way! While many are preparing for the upcoming award night, Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa are going to go all way out for their post-Academy Awards Show. The duo is known to have great chemistry together which is why they have continued to be one of the best co-hosts in the industry. While they are great at hosting the Live!, how would they be reacting if one of them were to host the Oscars?
Though no one can be certain about the co-hosts hosting the Academy Awards show in the future, Seacrest has subtly opened up about his opinion on his show partner being the Oscars host.
Ryan Seacrest Shared His Opinion on Hosting The Academy Awards Show
The Academy Awards show is one of the biggest events in Hollywood with the After Oscar Show becoming one of the traditions of the special occasion. After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the special segment has finally returned with the Live with Kelly and Ryan hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest will be back once again.
The duo will be interviewing winners and presenters backstage at the Dolby Theatre. The 48-year-old TV host opened up about him being a host of the Oscars in a Variety interview.
When asked about him even being asked to host the Oscars, he replied,
“I think Jimmy is the perfect fit. He’s seamless at the job, even though he makes it look easy. We know he prepares. And he’s funny.”
Not just he was in denial of the idea, but he subtly dissed his co-host as well for the position even though it is quite evident that the actress has been hosting for over two decades. Many of Ripa’s fans have long wished for her to be on the front row to kickstart the biggest night in Hollywood, however, it might not be happening for now.
Will Ryan Seacrest’s To-Do List Includes Hosting Oscars?
The producer also shared his thoughts on hosting the biggest night in Hollywood. He stated that hosting at the Oscars, for now, is not his expertise. He shared, “No. I’ll spare the audience and myself.”
He has clarified in the interview that he “could never do that job well” referring to hosting the Academy Awards. However, he is preparing for the upcoming segment post-Oscars show and “studying” to get each fact right especially when it comes to understanding about actors or the directors.
He also jokingly shared about the Oscars food being his priority as the food prepared by Wolfgang [Puck] is something he is looking forward to.
The 95th Oscars will be held on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
