“I was just f—king her because I was bored”: Pete Davidson Exposed Ariana Grande’s Double Standards After ‘Blackfish’ Ex-Girlfriend Called Him a Distraction After Breaking Up
Pete Davidson is one of the most talented comedians in the Hollywood industry. Not just stand-up comedies, he also made a name in the acting industry by working in films like The Suicide Squad and Bodies Bodies Bodies. While his professional career is entirely in the limelight, his personal life also garners much attention, especially regarding dating.
He has dated several A-list women in the Hollywood industry, including Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajwoksi, and Ariana Grande. Though his relationship never lasted long-term, his relationship with the renowned pop star advanced to the engagement phase. However, it eventually ended and the aftermath was quite in the headlines.
Ariana Grande Publicly Dissed Her Former Beau, Pete Davidson
The spring of 2018 witnessed one of the iconic couples in the Hollywood industry- Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. The duo first met on Saturday Night Live. Their relationship moved in leaps and bounds as PEOPLE confirmed in May of that year that the duo had kicked off their relationship chapter. What shocked the world was their engagement news as the duo announced their engagement just after a few weeks of dating each other.
The duo had their red carpet debut in August of that year. While everyone would have thought that the couple might get married due to their insane chemistry, it never happened as the duo called off their engagement in October of the same year.
While they initially did not want to discuss their breakup in the public, the God is a Woman singer in an interview for Vogue in 2019 told him being a distraction.
“My friends were like, ‘Come! We’re gonna have a fun summer.’ And then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction.”
She continued,
“It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him. I’m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don’t trust myself with the life stuff.”
Though it was not expected by the comedian from her side, he did give a taste of her own medicine in his own way.
Pete Davidson Responded to Ariana Grande’s Statement After Their Breakup
In his Netflix special, Pete Davidson: Alive From New York, he addressed his relationship with the singer only after he got to know that she dated him as a “distraction.” He warned his audience not to applaud as he was not doing a competition with his ex-beau.
He further added the thoughts of critics who would say,
“‘Pete, this isn’t fair.’ You’re like, ‘You’re airing out dirty laundry. How could you do that? Where did she say this stuff? To her friends, in the confidence of her own home?’ No, she said it on the cover of Vogue magazine.”
He took a dig at Grande by sharing that his career would be jeopardized if he would have dissed his ex.
“My career would be over tomorrow if I spray-painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started (hating) on my ex. Can you imagine?”
Even though their aftermath might have impacted both of them, they moved on in their lives. The Bodies Bodies Bodies actor is now romantically linked with his co-star, Chase Sui Wonders who haven’t confirmed their dating rumors.
