Jennifer Aniston talks about how the death of her parents pushed her into health and fitness

During an interview with USA Today earlier this year, the actress went on to discuss how her parents’ death made her conscious of her health and she started to put in extra effort to make sure she is healthy.

She said, “God bless my parents who are no longer with us, but they were not the specimens of health. My dad still lived to be 89 years old, shockingly, but that’s probably stubborn Greek genes.”

The actress pointed out that as she watched her parents’ health deteriorate over the years, it inspired her to understand how important it is for her and everyone to prioritize their sleep, health and exercise routine from an early age. She joked that she believes that she was a doctor in her past life, noting her friends call her Dr. Aniston because she is always up on the new technology or finding ways to keep improving one’s health.

She also shared, “I want my body to get strong, because as I get older, I want my body to thrive. We’re all going to get older. We’re all headed to that exact same spot. But we can take care of our skin. We can have a healthy diet. We can drink lots of water.”

Jennifer Aniston on no longer resenting her parents’ divorce

Last year, during a cover shoot for Allure, Aniston opened up about how her parents’ divorce had up her mother; Nancy Dow up, adding that now she has forgiven her mother, father, and the entire family.

Jen added, “It’s toxic to have that resentment, that anger. I learned that by watching my mom never let go of it. I remember saying, ‘Thank you for showing me what is never to be’. So that’s what I mean about taking the darker things that happen in our lives, the not-so-happy moments, and trying to find places to honor them because of what they have given to us.”
