“I’ll love him as much as my cat”: Jennifer Lawrence Addresses Motherhood With Her Trademark Humor, Says She Has Found Newfound Love For Newborn Babies
The 32-year-old first-time mother, Jennifer Lawrence, muses on accepting the real-life role in the October issue of Vogue, where she also reveals the sex of her child, who was born in February. The actress is famous for building up franchises such as The Hunger Games and X-Men while also being talented enough to perform in solo films featuring heavy topics like Silver Linings Playbook.
However, the current headlines on the actress are not about her talent and charm, but about who Jennifer Lawrence is as a new mother. The actress revealed what were her thoughts on things as a mother, and worry about during and after pregnancy. The actress also revealed that she has given birth to a bouncy beautiful baby boy!
Jennifer Lawrence talks about pregnancy and her love for her baby
The actress confessed that she hesitated multiple times when it came to talking about her experience of transitioning into a mother. The reason is that she did not want any individual who may have shared a different experience to feel alienated when it comes to experiencing such a pivotal point in their life.
“It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody. If I say ‘It was amazing from the start,’ some people will think, ‘It wasn’t amazing for me at first,’ and feel bad. Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, ‘It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.’ “
The actress also revealed that her humor is still very much intact after becoming a mother. As she states her love for her cat will not be undermined by the love of her newborn son.
“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’ “
Clearly, the Jennifer Lawrence that fans have come to love for her humor, charm, and talent is still very much inside the newfound motherhood.

The actress even participated in pro-choice movements
The politically active celebrity attended the Rally for Abortion Justice in Washington, D.C. last fall while pregnant and demonstrated her support for abortion rights alongside her friend Amy Schumer. Jennifer Lawrence hoisted a banner that stated “Women can’t be free if they don’t control their bodies.” while sporting a checkered dress.
“I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant. Thinking about the things that were happening to my body. And I had a great pregnancy. I had a very fortunate pregnancy. But every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: What if I was forced to do this?”
While pregnant, Jennifer Lawrence was fortunate enough to never face the confusion behind the decision of whether she wanted to become a mother or not as she had already dealt with that question before her pregnancy. However, the actress still wants to seek justice and give notice to those who did not have the luxury of being so certain with such a crucial change in their lives and decided to stand up for it in her way.
The actress feels as if she has started her life over again
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over.” Jennifer Lawrence stated when talking about the moment she introduced a new life into this world to whom she is a mother forever.
“Like, ‘Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’ “
The newfound perspective that the actress has found is not only wholesome but extremely adorable. Becoming a mother has certainly opened the actress’s eyes to all mothers out there and how special the bond is between a mother and her child from the days of pregnancy itself.
