A very big part of the daytime talk show Live With Kelly and Ryan, will be soon gone. Ryan Seacrest took everyone by surprise when he announced he will be leaving the show after the season is over. He then further confirmed on his Instagram live that he only intended to work on the show for three years, but he grew attached to the cast and crew so much that he decided to sign a contract for another three years. Thus, after gifting glorious six seasons to his audience, he is now set to exit.

And most recently, in an exclusive interview with E! News, the star shared his feeling about leaving the show and his plans post-departure.

Ryan Seacrest will miss chatting with his co-worker the most

In an exclusive interview with Carolina Bermudez on March 9th with E! News, Seacrest shared his experience on the show,

“We’ve gotten to know each other and become very, very close. It’s a unique environment here, where many people have been here a long time. They’ve raised their kids while being on this show.”

He is reportedly bagging a $10M paycheck but is still sad as he had to leave his co-host, Kelly Ripa behind. Seacrest said,

“I’ll miss being next to Kelly every single day,–We’re extremely close, we’re very good friends, we’ll remain good friends. But there’s that hour of communicating with somebody. You become super excited about doing it. You laugh, and then, of course, you can’t remember what you said to each other. So I’ll miss that part.”

Allegedly, Ripa is also one of the reasons for his continuing to stay after his third season. He stated on February 16th,

“When I signed on to host Live in 2017 it was meant to be for 3 years,—But I loved the job and working with Kelly so much that I extended my time, and last year I made the decision to stay on for one more final season.”

And more recently to E! News, he said,

“Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career—She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant. And although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”

It is now out officially, that Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos would be filling in for Ryan Seacrest. Although Seacrest will be leaving,  he urged his fans not to be disheartened, as Gelman, the executive producer of the show will make him come back time and again to fill in if necessary. Although that was a joke, he assured his fans that he would drop by from time to time.

What’s next for Ryan Seacrest?

Well, seems like the duo isn’t going to split up so soon, all thanks to the After Oscar Show. The duo will be seen sharing the tidbits of the Oscars exclusively with the viewers. Ryan Seacrest stated,

“We’ll both be backstage,–So, if you watch a winner on the main show, they will then turn the corner and you’ll see them disappear—as soon as they disappear, they’re with us. We’ll get that energy and emotion from the winners as they still probably haven’t processed it all.”

He also stated that he would be going back to  Los Angeles,

“I’m gonna be back in California a lot, I lived there for so many years. My life is there.”

In addition to that, he will continue producing his radio show on KIIS-FM and hosting American Idol as usual. He will also be starring in Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. So, it can be concluded that he won’t be abandoning the entertainment industry altogether.
