Iman Vellani Says Captain Marvel Was Never a Good Leader, Calls Her “Lonely cat lady in space with amnesia”
The Marvels star Iman Vellani has indisputably slayed the role of Kamala Khan, a teenage superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has recently compared her character and Brie Larson’s in terms of leadership.
Casting director Sarah Finn has been acknowledged for her casting choices since Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man came in 2008, and choosing Iman Vellani for the role of Kamala Khan in the MCU is earning her more appreciation as fans loved her role. Recently Vellani in an interview, compared Khan with Carol Danvers and claimed that her character’s leadership skills are way better than Brie Larson’s character.
Iman Vellani Compares Kamala Khan With Captain Marvel
Iman Vellani secured the role of teenage superhero Kamala Khan who’s still discovering her incredible abilities and proved to be an extraordinary fighter in the ongoing The Marvels starring Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris along with her as the leading team. Kamala Khan is incredibly lauded for being the most mature member of The Marvels and that’s what Iman Vellani believes too.

Kamala Khan the doe-eyed teen who has directed mighty power with her quantum bands, saved the galaxy from the Kree, and united two of the MCU’s most powerful heroes seems like she’s ready to become a leader after proving in The Marvels that she’s quite mature among her teammates. In an interview with Collider, Iman Vellani who’s slaying this role said:
“She has so many people that she cares about, and they kind of make her who she is. And then you compare it to Carol who’s a lonely cat lady in space with amnesia. She’s not doing anyone any favors. I don’t think she’s a very good leader, and I think she has a lot to learn from someone like Kamala, for example, who’s a natural-born leader.”
Vellani explained that Khan is the hero who truly understands the value of human life and what it’s like to experience the same. She also mentions Larson’s character Carol Danvers who lacks leadership skills (according to Vellani) in the MCU and is required to learn more from Kamala Khan.
Kamala Khan is Ready To Assemble a New Team
If you haven’t watched The Marvels yet, be aware that there’s a spoiler ahead! In the movie, Ms. Marvel played by Iman Vellani teams up with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau inspires her to star in a whole new team of young superheroes. The shape-shifting seraph initially is unaware if she’s the only teenage superhero in Marvel and to plan her new team she reaches New York City.
Khan then confronts Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and asks her: does she think she’s the only kid superhero in the world? Kate’s slight smirk hinted that Kamala Khan’s idea resonates with her. And now that Ms. Marvel has Captain Marvel improving her as an Avenger it would be thrilling to witness Kamala Khan as a new leader and would also make sense for the MCU to seize the opportunity and shape her as its new, emerging face.
The Marvels is in Theatres now.
