‘In Which Universe?’: Morbius Simps Get Trolled for Saying It’s a Better Movie Than ‘Revenge of the Sith’
Morbius, starring Jared Leto in the titular role, was scheduled to be released on July 10, 2020. But the movie had to be delayed, owing to the pandemic and other reasons. Marvel admirers had to wait for a long time to witness the film. After countless re-shuffles, the film produced by Columbia Pictures was finally released in March 2022. After two years of waiting, the entire fandom would have expected the movie to be worth their while. And it was… surprisingly bad.
Fans were really looking forward to the movie which would bring to light the story of one of Marvel Comic’s better characters. Casting Oscar-winner, Jared Leto, increased the expectations. But the movie flattered to deceive. You know the film is bad when even the lead actor mocks it. Sony would have been looking to expand its own Spider-man Universe. But after the release of Morbius, they must have changed their minds.

But not everything’s bad. There’s a silver lining for the movie – its audience score is better than that of Revenge of the Sith.
A Fandom Feud?
If you were to ask Star Wars fans whether they prefer the original or the prequel trilogy, you’ll be greeted with ridicule, scorn, and the reply – “The Original trilogy, any day!”
The Original trilogy has always been close to fans’ hearts and is revered by the entire Star Wars fandom. But the prequel trilogy, not so much. Not to say that it is bad, but it is definitely not most fans’ favorite. Naturally, the last film of the prequel trilogy, Revenge of the Sith, is regarded as one of the worst films of the franchise, clear from its audience score.

Fans’ Reaction: Morbius v/s Revenge of the Sith
The comparisons between Revenge of the Sith and Morbius, have the internet aghast. Prequel trilogy fans are failing to come to grips with the fact that Morbius has a better audience score than Revenge of the Sith.
Everyone’s allowed to have an opinion… but revenge of the sith is objectively a better movie than Morbius in every single possible way. https://t.co/QQsmMepxq9

The Real Reason behind Morbius’ High Ratings
There are some movies that trend for their objective quality. Those movies deserve all the respect they get and are appreciated by the fans for the same. And then there’s a class that makes headlines for being simply terrible (do I hear Godfather 3 simps in the background?)
Morbius definitely belongs to the latter. Morbius is, hands-down, one of the worst Marvel films in recent memory. That is apparent from its Rotten Tomatoes score of 17%. But the movie has a cult following for being how bad it is, with Morbin memes becoming a wild trend on Twitter. It has a passionate online Discord community and even made headlines after a fan repeatedly streamed it on Twitch for 12 hours.
People like Morbius ironically
And Revenge of the Sith has actual genuine hate towards it, even with the movie’s upswing in popularity https://t.co/B8RrpUBM4P

The popularity meant that fans were demanding more of it. And Sony, in a move to cash in on the hype, released the film in theatres, again! And the film bombed, again!
The internet really tricked Sony into losing more money on Morbius with memes, just comedy gold. pic.twitter.com/ijzFoy9y4d

The conclusion: Memers – 1 // Sony – 0
