“Insufficient evidence to charge him with a crime”: Henry Cavill’s ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ Co-Star Armie Hammer Absolved of S*xual Assault Charges
Due to a lack of evidence, actor Armie Hammer has been exempt from rape allegations. In 2017, the actor was accused of sexually assaulting his partner, due to which his Hollywood career saw a major downfall. This isn’t the first time Hammer has been accused of sexual assault.
Many women have come forward to reveal Hamner’s hideous acts. He has also denied all the allegations while making the claim that those were the things he did in the past and that he regrets them. Based on the accusations, Hammer’s life has become a living hell, as he claimed that he has lost on many projects ever since then and is in high debt.
Why has Armie Hammer’s case come to a halt?
Armie Hammer’s case has garnered a lot of media attention over the course of time. The actor has been charged with sexual assault. However, his case now seems to have no conclusion, as recently it has been reported that the charges levied against him won’t proceed as the evidence gathered against him is not sufficient.
Previously, the 36-year-old actor was accused of rape and physically abusive behavior, and the accusor was identified as his girlfriend, with whom he had been in an on-and-off relationship for four years.
According to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, an investigation is being carried out to conclude Hammer’s case. It has been claimed,
“In this case, those prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review, but determined that at this time, there is insufficient evidence to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime. As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to only charge cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt … Due to the complexity of the relationship and inability to prove a non-consensual, forcible sexual encounter, we are unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”
This wasn’t the first time Hammer had been accused of sexual assault. Amidst these accusations, many women got the courage to speak up against Hammer. The actor was accused of crossing his limits during intercourse. However, the actor has denied every allegation and claimed that every sexual encounter he was involved in was consensual. Moreover, he claimed that his deeds were the result of his past trauma and that he was guilty of his behavior.
Armie Hammer’s Reaction to the Sexual Assault Charges
Armie Hammer’s career saw a great downfall after he was accused of sexual assault. Though the actor has denied every allegation, he has accepted being a womanizer in the past. The Call Me By Your Name star said,
“I had a very intense and extreme lifestyle. I would scoop up these women, bring them into it – into this whirlwind of travel and sex and drugs and big emotions flying around – and then as soon as I was done, I’d just drop them off and move on to the next woman, leaving that woman feeling abandoned or used.”
He further explained why he is interested in being dominant during intercourse. He claimed that he was sexually abused at the age of 13, and that experience made him feel powerless at that time. He said,
“I had no agency in the situation. My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, sexually.”
After these accusations against Hammer made headlines, his fortune tanked as he lost many projects. The actor claimed that he was massively in debt.
