Shuri is now the new Black Panther, which is a development that mirrors her arc in the comic books. She mentioned during the interview, “She actually takes on a new form in the future. She really never dies, which is really interesting. She has these amazing crazy superpowers, and she’s an encyclopedia of information.”

Wright also explains that she sees Mama Angela Bassett all the time, during award season, giving her flowers and making sure that she is doing well. However, in her conversation with ComicBook.com, Wright did acknowledge that it was tough for her to play Shuri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as she had to channel a different energy from her normal self to properly be able to feel things that her character dealt with the passing of T’Challa.

The actress concludes that she is a light-hearted and fun person and maintaining the energy that comes following the death of T’Challa is pretty difficult but she enjoyed getting into the drama of it.
