Big Hollywood stars can get extremely busy with all their projects which sometimes leads to drifting apart from friends and such. That is seemingly what happened with Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynskey as the latter shared recently on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast. Lynskey opened up about feeling hurt and sad when Winslet’s busy schedule and fame eventually made them drift apart. Nevertheless, as an understanding friend, Lynskey always looked up to the Titanic star as an inspiration.

Furthermore, she also added that striking up a friendship with co-stars happened more than once. However, in one such instance, she was left disappointed as the friendship seemed to be a one-sided affair.

Recently, Melanie Lynskey opened up about her past friendship with Kate Winslet. Working in the 1994 flick Heavenly Creatures, Winslet and Lynskey naturally struck up a close friendship. However, in the coming years, as the Titanic actor rose to fame, she seemed to have lesser and lesser time to spend with Lynskey. While opening up in the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Yellowjackets star revealed that it had been worse than a breakup. Lynskey shared, “It was so painful.”

Further, she also added that it was all due to Winslet’s rise to become a “gigantic International” star. She added, “and she didn’t have a lot of time.”

And as happens with people, work schedules eventually came in between their bond. Nevertheless, Lynskey has only nice things to say about her old friend.

In the same podcast, Melanie Lynskey also talked about another experience. According to her, while extending out her friends to one of her co-stars, she was allegedly rejected immediately. The “co-star” had replied to Lynskey saying, “Yeah, I’m not friends with actors”

The thing that shocked her about the incident was that she had expected the other actor to be used to becoming friends with co-stars. As Lynskey explained, the actor had been in the industry longer than her, therefore, she had expected otherwise.
