‘It was straight up music theft’: Jennifer Lopez Accused of Ruining Careers of Prominent Artists Like Usher, Ashanti After They Claimed She Stole Their Songs

She was reportedly accused of stealing or borrowing her songs for several years. She used prominent artists’ songs to create her glamourous musical career with musicians like Ashanti and Usher, shaded by the diva.

Back in 2005, J.Lo released her fourth studio album, Rebirth, which received mixed reviews from the critics.
However, the Get Right song from this album was widely praised by many and gained immediate attention upon its release. As per the reports, the 43-year-old Usher at that time got furious at the pop star and accused her of using his piece.
At that time, he shared how the actress-singer took his piece and made her name in the industry.
“I hate it, but I’d better get some of the publishing rights or else. I didn’t put it on my album because I couldn’t get it right. But I didn’t expect J.Lo to just take it.”
According to the latter, Get Right was his song with the title, Ride, and stated that he cast it aside while he was recording his then-recent album, Confessions. He also mentioned that his song was available on the Internet claiming that the actress’s song was just a re-recorded version of his song, Ride.

Ashanti Called Out J.Lo for Using Her Vocals in Her Hit Songs
Back in the 2000s, the Selena star was accused of using Ashanti’s vocals for her hit song, I’m Real. The 42-year-old singer also revealed that she wrote the Ain’t It Funny remix. The latter shared that the I’m Real song was intended for the latter’s self-titled debut album.
However, Gotti, who signed the latter to his record label Murda Inc, gave the song to Lopez which was recorded with Ashanti’s vocals. As per the reports, the Foolish singer recorded a demo track for the first song which ended up in the final version.
For the second song, she wrote the parts however was never appreciated for her contribution to both songs. The topic resurfaced last year when she opened up about how one should receive their share for their contribution. She stated,
“You should always care about credit for what you do regardless of what industry you’re in, it’s really important to give credit.”
She finally got her credit for both the songs she did for Jennifer Lopez.
