“It would have been so heartbreaking”: Dakota Johnson Knows Fifty Shades of Grey Would Have Been a Disaster Without Her Chemistry With Jamie Dornan
There is no doubt about the success that the Fifty Shades of Grey film series has been able to achieve. Although the books came out much earlier than the movies, the latter was what brought them to center stage. And the excellent job that the cast (Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson) carries out, has unquestionably made quite a big impact.
Talking about it, Johnson opened up about how she and her co-star had been able to express such good chemistry on-screen. It seems that the relationship they had off-camera, helped a lot with their acting.
Dakota Johnson Opened Up About Her Perfect On-Screen Chemistry with Jamie Dornan
When anyone thinks of Anastasia and Christian Grey from the Fifty Shades series, there is no doubt that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan instantly pop up in the head. With three Fifty Shades films back to back, the two actors have shown their dedication to the role and how perfectly they were able to nail their chemistry.
Back in 2018 when the last installment of the film series Fifty Shades Freed was out, Johnson opened up about what made their perfect on-screen chemistry possible.
And according to her, it was because she and Dornan had a “special” relationship off-screen that made it easy to act with each other without much difficulty. Discussing the chemistry, the actress also added,
“If we didn’t get along, it would have been so heartbreaking,”
Furthermore, the two seemingly had a very friendly relationship with each other where they could goof around and poke fun at each other.
The trust they had between them seemed to have made it possible to do whatever they liked around each other. Supporting her words, even the author E.L. James said pretty much the same thing regarding the two actors and their chemistry.
What Are Fifty Shades Films All About?
Based on the book series written by E.L. James, the basic plot revolves around an average college girl named Anastasia Steele who while trying to get a job ends up developing a relationship with a rich businessman named Christian Grey.
However, their relationship soon turns sadomasochistic as Steele comes to realize that Grey’s s*xual life is influenced by his tormented past. Despite this, their burning love for each other does not die easily. And they pursue each other nonetheless. There are three films in total with the first released back in 2015 and all directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
