“It’s always the same answer”: Kelly Ripa Reveals Why She Didn’t Divorce Mark Consuelos as Husband Finally Replaces Ryan Seacrest in ‘Live’
TV star Kelly Ripa and actor Mark Consuelos have been together for over 25 years now. Their marriage is one of the few relationships in the industry that have lasted for a very long time. They are not just partners, but they are also co-workers now as Consuelos has replaced Ryan Seacrest as a host on ABC’s Live! and so far, they have delivered excellent work.
Like all relationships, they’ve had their ups and downs, but despite that, the two have never ended their relationship. In her latest interview, Ripa explained the real reason why she just can’t leave her husband.
Why can’t Kelly Ripa leave Mark Consuelos?
TV star Kelly Ripa and her husband, actor Mark Consuelos recently sat down with People for an interview and talked about their marriage. At one point, Ripa explained why she can’t get separated from Consuelos,
“I don’t understand when people say, ‘We never fight.’ I go, ‘Oh, they’re in trouble,’ Many people we know have gone through a divorce and a separation and when you ask ‘Why did you guys wind up getting a divorce?’, it’s always the same answer: ‘I don’t really know.’ I feel like we could have over the years let something small turn into that and [instead] we just put our heads down, got together, and said ‘Let’s work it out…’ Now we can work it out on camera!”
The TV star explained that she prefers to find a solution instead of just damaging her relationship with Consuelos.

Mark Consuelos was jealous at the beginning of their marriage
Last month, Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa talked about Consuelos’ jealousy on the new Sirius XM podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. The TV star explained that her husband was jealous when they got married,
“My biggest complaint about you over the course of our marriage — and this is not recent, ’cause it definitely changed, and I don’t know if I changed or if you changed or if it was some combination of change — but you used to be insanely jealous. And that was a hard pill to swallow. It’s very hard being married to somebody who is jealous. … It’s unattractive.”
Ripa explained that Consuelos was initially very jealous when they got married in 1996, however, he later got used to it.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first met on the sets of the popular soap opera All My Children in 1995. They instantly felt a connection and became close. Roughly one year later, they decided to get married. They made their first appearance as a couple in 1997 at the 24th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The two share three kids, Michael Joseph Consuelos, Lola Grace Consuelos, and Joaquin Antonio Consuelos. Over the years, the two have been very candid about their relationship. Ripa even once revealed that she “doesn’t get tired” of having s*x with Consuelos.
