“It’s just not fair”: Taylor Swift’s 9-Year Old Fan Who Received One of the Greatest Gifts from Pop Icon Billionaire Dies of Cancer
Taylor Swift is widely known for her songwriting and singing skills across the globe. She is undoubtedly one of the most impactful artists of her generation. While she enjoys a huge fortune of over $1 billion, which she has solely earned from making music, she has a heart of gold and a humble nature.
This is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why she has millions and millions of fans from every corner of the world. Her music is not the only thing that has won the hearts of so many people, adults and teenagers alike. Her humility and love for her fans are evident in how she treats them. One of her youngest fans- a 9-year-old girl named Scarlett Oliver who received a gift from the musician has tragically passed away.
One of Taylor Swift’s Youngest Fans Bid Adieu to the World
Having started her career as a professional musician when she was 14, Taylor Swift released her self-titled debut album at 17. In the past seventeen years of her music career, she has presented the world with 11 studio albums excluding the re-recordings of 4 of her albums.
The countless accolades she has won speak volumes of her proficiency as a musician. Further, Swift’s massive fanbase, which likes to call themselves Swifties, is no less of a prize for her considering how passionate and dedicated they have been to the artist throughout the years.
Recently, a 9-year-old Swiftie named Scarlett Oliver lost her battle with cancer. Her father posted a heartwrenching goodbye note to his daughter on his wife’s Instagram account.
“My Angel, so strong, so brave, so beautiful. Nothing will ever be the same again. Don’t forget me and please find a way to let me know you are ok. Goodnight baby, I love you – Dad. It’s just not fair.”
The late Scarlett Oliver was also an ardent fan of the Cruel Summer singer. Oliver even attended the first night of the Eras Tour concert in Sydney at the Accor Stadium in February.
Fellow Swifties Helped Scarlett Oliver’s Wish Come True
Ahead of the Eras Tour concert, the little girl’s stepmother posted on Instagram requesting Swifties to help fulfill her daughter’s wish of receiving the signed ’22’ hat from the musician. She mentioned that Oliver was diagnosed with an aggressive form of incurable brain cancer.
The girl was granted a ‘WISH’ from the Make a Wish Foundation, and using social media, they were able to arrange the ticket to the Eras Tour concert. Natalie Oliver, Scarlett Oliver’s stepmother, wrote that it would be a dream come true for the little Swiftie to receive the Lover singer’s signed ’22’ hat which she gives away during her performance of the song 22.
Scarlett Oliver’s dream came true as Swift placed the hat on her head and even hugged her at the concert (via Instagram). Oliver’s parents made sure to thank everyone for making their daughter’s dream come true and even updated them about her deteriorating health through Instagram. Unfortunately, they lost their daughter to cancer just ahead of her 10th birthday on May 7.
