“It’s my worst nightmare”: John Stamos Was Beyond Repair When Tony Danza Betrayed Him by Sleeping With His Girlfriend

Actor and musician John Stamos was left heartbroken when he found that his then-girlfriend Teri Copley cheated on him with another actor. The Born to Ride star opened up about the heartbreaking moments in his new and upcoming memoir If You Would Have Told Me.
John Stamos Claimed His Ex-Girlfriend Cheated on Him With Tony Danza
John Stamos who is now an incredible father and husband, once went through one of the toughest times in his life. The Never Too Young to Die star in his upcoming memoir If You Would Have Told Me shared the heartbreaking moments when he discovered that his ex-girlfriend Teri Copley, a talented actress and model cheated on him with actor Tony Danza.

The actor revealed that things in their relationship became troublesome when Copley started giving him cold shoulders. Concerned Stamos then went to his ex-girlfriend’s house to check and what he found was nothing less than horrifying: a poster of Copley, naked, with a message for Tony Danza. He wrote:
“My heart is beating out of my chest, my mind is racing, and the room is spinning. I feel like throwing up all over her white shag carpet. It’s my worst nightmare.”
The Secrets of Eden star disclosed that after witnessing the poster, he then walked into Copley’s guesthouse and found the actress asleep in bed with a man he did not immediately recognize but referred to as “Mr. Porsche Speedster” as he saw a vintage convertible parked in Copley’s driveway when he went to her house.
John Stamos Says Teri Copley Wasn’t The Right Girl For Him
The actor penned those heart-wrenching moments in his upcoming memoir and shared his thoughts in an interview on the emotional turmoil which he also labels as “worst nightmare”. The Alice in Wonderland actor told Entertainment Weekly: “I can’t explain it, but I would’ve rather been punched in the nose again or something because the pain is so overwhelming.” The actor added:
“Looking back, it’s like, probably, she wasn’t the right girl for me. So seeing him, realizing it was him and stuff, it was hard. I mean, it was awful.”
Stamos explained that eventually, he understood that Teri Copley wasn’t the right girl for him but witnessing all that she did with him was indeed terrible. John Stamos said:
“At first I was like, ‘I’m going to kick his…’ I didn’t know it was [Danza] yet. I see his abs. I’m like, ‘Maybe not. F— it.’ And I ran, but I remember running down the driveway with tears streaming down my face and I didn’t want anyone to see me.”
Copley claimed that she and Stamos had broken up that time and couldn’t understand why he visited her guesthouse. The Wedding Wars star in his memoir wrote that he detected the man as Danza only after seeing a poster of his former lover had signed. However, Stamos is happily married to Caitlin McHugh with whom she shares an adorable son.
