Irish actor Paul Mescal, known for his breakout role in the romantic drama series Normal People, is once again the subject of dating rumors. This time, he was spotted on a lunch date with American singer Gracie Abrams.
Neither Mescal nor Abrams has said anything about their lunch date, so it isn’t certain if they’re dating. However, fans are confused about them possibly being together, especially since Mescal previously dated Phoebe Bridgers, who is friends with Taylor Swift.

Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams were spotted on what appeared to be a date in London on Sunday. Photos obtained by TMZ show the pair engaged in conversation over lunch at BRAT restaurant. The Hollywood actor has made it clear that he likes to keep his dating life private. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Mescal mentioned that talking about relationship rumors doesn’t benefit him and that he prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. So, it all makes sense!
This isn’t the first time the Gladiator II star has been linked to a singer connected to T-Swizzle. In 2020, he began a relationship with Phoebe Bridgers (who is Tay’s work buddy). They kept their relationship mostly out of the spotlight but showed up together at a few events. However, the couple apparently split up around late 2022.

Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal were in a relationship that everyone could see. They flirted online, collaborated on music videos, and attended red carpet events together. It all started with a tweet (via Twitter) in 2020 when Bridgers praised Mescal’s role in Normal People. She spoke about him in interviews (including one with NME) and there were reports of them dining together in Ireland.
In an interview with GQ, Mescal called his girlfriend (without revealing her name) a “lifesaver” during the pandemic lockdown. Soon, he starred in Bridgers’ music video for Savior Complex. And by the end of year 2021, the Kyoto singer posted a sweet (now-removed) selfie on Instagram, officially confirming their relationship.
Later, the duo was seen together at Met Galas. The 28-year-old starred in Bridgers’ music video Sidelines, which she said was influenced by him. They continued backing each other’s projects. But, unfortunately, their relationship ended in 2022.
