“I’ve watched her career her whole life”: Tom Cruise Joins Force With Scarlett Johansson After Her Retirement From Marvel Movies

Hollywood celebrities often gushed over their co-stars after shooting a movie. The industry has seen a lot of good paring on-screen, and some showcased brilliant chemistry. Two actors who have never worked together are Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson. Johansson’s Hollywood career has been an inspiring journey. She began her career as a child actress and is currently one of the highest-paid actresses. The portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe made her a prominent face across the world.

On the other hand, Tom Cruise is the heartthrob of Hollywood. The 60-year-old needs no introduction as he has managed to build a successful reputation in the entertainment industry. Cruise has worked with many leading ladies from the industry but not with Scarlett Johansson. The actress, during her new movie premiere, expressed the desire to work with the Top Gun star, and to everyone’s surprise, the actor is on board for it.

Tom Cruise is on board to work opposite Scarlett Johansson

During the New York City premiere of Asteroid City, Scarlett Johansson was questioned about one actor she would like to work from the industry. Johansson’s acting journey has been inspiring, she entered the industry as a child actress and is now one of the highest-paid actresses in the entertainment industry. The actress was also part of the Marvel franchise and played Black Widow. The Avengers actress expressed her desire of working with Tom Cruise.

She said, “I’d love to work with Tom Cruise. Someone should pitch a story with the two of them starring alongside each other.”

Tom Cruise has made a strong reputation in the industry. He has had a bright career in acting. The actor during the Rome premiere of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One graced the red carpet and was informed by the media about Johansson’s wish to work with him. The 60-year-old revealed that he’s “absolutely on board” to work opposite the Lucy actress in a project.

Cruise said, “She’s amazing. There’s a great actress and a movie star.”

When asked by THR if thinks he can work with the Black Widow actress in something together, he immediately answered, “Yes. It’s gonna happen.”

The Top Gun: Maverick star continued,

“Look, I’ve watched her career her whole life. She’s enormously talented, very charismatic. It’d be fun. She could do everything. She could do comedy, drama, action, suspense. She’s someone that really draws you in on the screen, on camera. So absolutely, it’s gonna happen.”

It will be interesting to see Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise’s amazing chemistry when they share a screen in the future together.

Scarlett Johansson retires from Marvel Cinematic Universe

Scarlett Johansson has produced amazing work in films. She started her career with the 1994 film North and has since coasted from genre to genre. Johansson is the highest-earning performer of all time thanks to her films, which have brought in close to $15 billion. The actress entered MCU as Black Widow and instantly became a fan favorite.

Scarlett Johansson, the Marvel Black Widow, admitted to Gwyneth Paltrow on The Goop Podcast that she won’t be returning to MCU. Natasha Romanoff, commonly known as Black Widow, was killed off in the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame when she bravely gave her life for the Avengers at Vormir. After appearing in nearly ten MCU films the 38-year-old decided to retire as Black Widow from the franchise.
