James Gunn Shares New Peacemaker Poster Showing John Cena On Wanted Ad!
HBO Max is leaving no stone untouched to promote its upcoming series, Peacemaker. James Gunn who is the writer as well as the director of the show has shared a “wanted” poster that features John Cena as the anti-hero.
Fans thought that Peacemaker was killed during the battle at Corto Maltese, however, the end credits scene showed John Economos and Emilia Harcourt visited Peacemaker in the hospital to “save the f***king world”. The same has set up the spin-off series which is to run for eight episodes.
Peacemaker is set to take place after the events of the Suicide Squad and additionally will be exploring the origins of the character as well. Peacemaker’s father had “trained him as a soldier since the day he was born.” The trauma of his father’s unconventional methods followed by his tragic suicide has now made Peacemaker an irrational enforcer.
James Gunn has not only served Peacemaker as showrunner and a writer but has also directed five episodes of the series while he was completing his work on The Suicide Squad.
The production just started earlier this year and the series is expected to premiere somewhere in January 2022. It’s less than a week to go for the DC FanDome event and the promotions for Peacemaker are going in full swing.
A new teaser, poster, and featurette for Peacemaker were recently revealed at New York Comic Con 2021.

In the upcoming show, Peacemaker is all set to team up with ARGUS members aka John Economos, Emilia Harcourt, Leota Adebayo, Auggie Smith, Vigilante, and Clemson Murn to form a black- ops team to prevent a catastrophe. A recent promotional clip for the upcoming series showed Peacemaker joined the “team” in the diner and revealed that his new teammates are doubting his abilities.
The latest poster reveals that Peacemaker is still a criminal and a villain and is out of prison as long as he works for Amanda Waller and her team. Fans can expect additional information about the release date and synopsis and hopefully a new trailer for the series!
