The introduction of Lex Luthor in the Superman: Legacy might be a genius move. There is a lot of anticipation and excitement surrounding James Gunn’s upcoming movie. The movie is set to be released in 2025. While fans wanted Henry Cavill to return for the lead role, there is a major change in the cast and David Corenswet is set to play the role for the upcoming movie.
Interestingly, there is another major change in the forthcoming movie which will see the character of Lex Luthor be played by Nicholas Hoult. While there have been a lot of question marks raised by people speculating if he will be able to fit the role, fans are excited to see the role being included in Superman: Legacy.
Including Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is a genius move
The character of Lex Luthor has brought something unique and valuable in each of his appearances in the past. His inclusion in the upcoming movie will certainly add to the story in many ways. The character hates everything that Superman represents, however, he still respects him. The villain is pretty self-aware and knows he is outmatched by the superhero and tries to counter his powers.
Moreover, despite being known as the arch-villain for Superman, he is also a villain to every DC hero. Apart from this, his ability to manipulate other villains and potentially introduce other villains in the upcoming Superman: Legacy is something to look forward to. That said, it will be interesting to see how Nicholas Hoult does with the opportunity of playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman: Legacy.
Henry Cavill failed to secure three major roles before being cast as Superman
Henry Cavill’s rise to stardom has been meteoric thanks to his portrayal as Superman. However, it is worth noting that Cavill failed to secure three major roles before he was offered the chance to act as Superman. Cavill was once considered for the lead role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, however, he was rejected after the pre-production began as he did not suit the requirements of the character.
Henry Cavill was also in contention for James Bond in Casino Royale. However, he was ultimately rejected by the director of the film. Interestingly, Cavill was being considered for Batman Begins by the movie’s director. However, he opted out of auditioning for the role. Despite this, his depiction of Superman certainly makes up for all the opportunities he missed in the past.
