Jenna Fischer Will Return for Potential The Office Movie Only Under 1 Condition After Bryan Cranston’s Surprising Idea
Even though The Office (US) ended in 2013, the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company lives in the hearts of the audience rent-free. It is hard not to be a religious fan of the show due to its unconventional humor, mockumentary style, and a brilliant cast that everyone connected to instantly. The satiric humor of the show might as well be 70% of the personality of any sitcom lover by now.
2024 started on quite an ecstatic note for The Office lovers as a rumor started going around that showrunner Greg Daniels is thinking of an Office reboot. The details on that front are scarce. However, Breaking Bad alum and Emmy winner Bryan Cranston was recently heard toying with the idea of a film about The Office, and fans cannot get enough of it.
Is The Office Getting a Movie? Jenna Fischer and Bryan Cranston Open Up
There has been much chatter about reviving The Office (US), and Bryan Cranston is here for it. In the latest episode of SiriusXM’s Office Ladies podcast, he lets it know that he wants in on the action if they potentially revive the show in any form.
Bryan Cranston also asked whether Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey would be interested in a movie version of the reunion.
“So let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but let’s say that there’s a movie — something where we can see where these people are – these people in the entire cast that we’re curious about.”
Angela Kinsey quickly chimed in, and after a brief comparison with Downton Abbey, the movie, she said she would be open to the idea because it sounds “fun.”
“I would do it. I would do it for my kids, ‘cause I think they would think that’s fun.”

Jenna Fischer, on the other hand, had a few conditions in place. Although she would love nothing more than to come back for this classic show, she would come back if Greg Daniels was helming the project.
“I would trust it. You know? As long as Greg is writing it and he’s in charge of it, then I say yes.”
Bryan Cranston wanted to get Greg Daniels on the phone and start with the project already. In fact, he was so enthusiastic that he said that he was even fine with being an extra on the speculated project.
Rumors About Reviving The Office Again
Rumors of reviving The Office have been making the rounds on the internet for a long time. While talking to EW in 2019, showrunner Greg Daniels seemed reluctant to revive the classic show that ended in absolute perfection.
“We got the chance to end it the way we wanted to end it,” he said. “It wasn’t like we were interrupted in the middle of a run or something. So in a sense, it’s completely an artistic whole. But, that said, I don’t know, the cast every now and then talks about getting back together in some form, but I don’t see it being a reboot like the way Will & Grace was rebooted.”
Last fall, Daniels again addressed the rumors, and this time it looked a bit hopeful for the audience as he did not outright deny anything.
“When there’s something to announce, I will definitely announce it.”
In the recent podcast, Fischer and Kinsey addressed the rumors in vague terms. Apparently, Greg Daniels is working on something but it might not involve the same cast. However, they showed interest in popping up as a guest.
The Office (US) is available to watch on Netflix and Prime Video.
