Jennifer Lawrence’s Hilarious Response To Why She Broke Her ‘Don’t Annoy Meryl Streep’ Rule: “That Was Until I Realized How Annoying She Is”
Jennifer Lawrence is a well-known skillful actress known for her role in The Hunger Games trilogy as well as her role in the 20th Century Fox version of the younger X-men movies as Raven/Mystique. One of her most recent roles is in the 2021 movie, Don’t Look Up, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, Ariana Grande, and Meryl Streep.
The film is about warning people about an incoming comet that would destroy planet Earth, two unimportant astronomers must embark on a massive publicity tour. Within a quick Q&A session with a reporter while at the premiere of the film, the actress revealed how it was working with the legend, Meryl Streep. It is a grounded comedy movie that features some very realistically disturbing truths about mass media handles its audience and how humanity as a group chooses to overlook certain aspects of life that we don’t find comforting to remain peaceful and calm.

The actress apparently had one rule that she wanted to follow when acting alongside Meryl Streep. “Don’t annoy Meryl Streep.” When The Devil Wears Prada actress was asked about the same, her only words were “She failed….. because she’s so annoying”. It became clear that Jennifer Lawrence was quick to dismiss her one rule during the filming process. The actress’s exact reasoning as to why did she break her one rule is “That was until I realized how annoying she is.”
The two legends even had a hilarious unfortunate misunderstanding when the X-Men: First Class actress kept referring to Meryl Streep as the G.O.A.T. which she did not know that the word is meant to be an acronym for Greatest Of All Time. After finding out what it meant, Jennifer Lawrence stated “She was just like, ‘oh well, I guess you know, like an old goat.’ [Meryl Streep] really took it on the chin.”

Clearly, the two actresses have formed quite a bond during the filmmaking of Don’t Look Up. Viewers can even catch the appreciation and happiness Jennifer Lawrence had on her face during a panel meant to promote the film when Meryl Streep mentioned that she was a fan of the “Real Housewives” series. Not to mention the massive respect and adoration that the actress shows toward Meryl Streep as a fangirl in almost every interview where the legend’s name is taken in her presence.

Don’t Look Up cast chemistry is gold
Even though Meryl Streep is hilarious in Don’t Look Up, Jonah Hill, who plays her on-screen son, plays just as well within the role he was given. Jonah Hill had the best jokes, at least in Jennifer Lawrence’s opinion, as it appears that occasionally she cracked out. The actor’s improvisation, which was required for one specific facet of his character, is reportedly what caused this. Some highlights of the movie were the numerous jabs at Jennifer Lawrence’s character, and it seems like the actress also thoroughly appreciated them.
Following a hiatus from Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence makes a significant acting comeback with the Netflix original film Don’t Look Up which is currently available to watch on the platform.
