Jensen Ackles Becomes the Knight in Batman Concept Trailer That Should Nudge James Gunn to Give Supernatural Star the 1 Chance He Deserves
The DC Universe has been entertaining the world for many years, and Batman has been one of the most popular characters ever across all comics. Given the recent change in leadership with James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over the DC Studios as co-CEOs, fans have been eager to find out who will be the next actor to suit up as Batman. One of the names that has come forward is none other than Jensen Ackles.
Ackles, who starred as Dean Winchester in Supernatural and Soldier Boy in The Boys, has always been desired by many fans due to his looks, strong on-screen presence, and acting skills. His portrayal of a skilled hunter and a protector has made him a fan favorite and a perfect choice to portray the complexity of Bruce Wayne and Batman on the big screen.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold Concept Trailer Features Jensen Ackles
A recent fan-made concept trailer depicted Jensen Ackles as the new Batman. Created by KH Studio, the trailer featured clips from different TV shows and movies, such as The Batman, Titans, and Ackles’ roles in Supernatural and The Boys.
The concept trailer is a great mix of action, suspense, and passion and depicts how Ackles can portray the role of Batman. His physique, along with his portrayal of emotionally bruised Bruce Wayne, definitely raises the hopes of his fans to see him as the Knight.
Ackles was also desired by Warner Bros. to play Batman in Gotham Knights TV show but it never materialized due to scheduling issues. Besides that, he has also given voice to Jason Todd (Red Hood) in Batman: Under The Red Hood and has voiced Batman in Tomorrowverse, Batman: The Long Halloween, Legion Of Superheroes, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths and Justice League: Warworld.
Ackles has also shown interest in playing his favorite superhero of all time. During a fan interaction, he addressed the rumors that there were no official talks going on at the time that he would love to play Batman and that the studio should sign him up.
Moreover, Ackles has experience of portraying the character and his personal filmography also shows that he can commit to a role for a long time as he did with Dean Winchester in Supernatural for 18 years. Moreover, he also showed his potential to play a superhuman with a dark past in his portrayal of Soldier Boy in The Boys. These qualities make him one of the potential candidates for the role of the caped crusader.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold Will Be a Fresh Take on the Bat-Family
Although The Brave and the Bold has not even started its production, James Gunn has shared some information about the new Batman of the DCU. In his announcement video about DCU’s upcoming projects, he said,
Batman: Brave and the Bold is a story of Batman and his actual son, Damian Wayne. This is based on Grant Morrison’s great comic book run, Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin, he’s a little assassin who Batman tries to get in line and so this is the story of the two of them and the beginning of sort of the Bat Family in the DCU.
The film will follow the story of Damian Wayne who wants to change for the better with his father’s help. According to Collider, Peter Safran also talked about the introduction of the Bat-family with Batman: Brave and the Bold. He said,
This is obviously a feature film, and it’s going to feature other members of the extended ‘Bat-family’, just because we feel like they’ve been left out of the Batman stories in the theater for far too long.
Thus, with both Gunn and Safran thinking of introducing new characters like Red Robin and more, Jensen Ackles seems to fit the role of the new Batman, especially as the role would require an older version of Batman with more experience.
