Jonathan Majors is a highly talented and promising star in the entertainment industry, who made a breakthrough with his exceptional role of Atticus Freeman in the award-winning HBO series Lovecraft Country in 2019. Unfortunately, a recent issue has damaged the 33-year-old’s career and put him into the media spotlight, following abuse allegations against the actor. But a recent text exchange that appeared to be from his alleged girlfriend has caused outrage and concern. According to the messages, that woman takes full responsibility for an incident that happened, excusing him of any criminal actions.

But, one source has also stated that the leaked messages are a clear example of a textbook-abused woman trying to protect her partner.

The Alleged Text Chain Has Sparked Concerns Surrounding Jonathan Majors

The entertainment industry is currently involved in a controversy surrounding Jonathan Majors, a rising star in the field. Majors was arrested on March 25 in Manhattan after a woman, believed to be his girlfriend, claimed that he assaulted her, resulting in “minor injuries to her head and neck.”

He was released without bail later that day following his arrest. His lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, subsequently issued a statement promising to share evidence that would clear her client of all charges.

Days later, Chaudhry’s husband, Andrew Bourke, who is serving as the Creed III actor’s crisis publicist, released several text messages, reportedly sent by Majors’ accuser to the actor himself.

Although the exchange has not been independently verified, the messages express remorse for the Devotion player’s arrest.

“I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone, this was not an attack. Please let me know if you’re okay when you get this. They assured me that you won’t be charged. They said they had to arrest you as protocol when they saw the injuries on me and they knew we fought. I’m so angry that they did. And I’m sorry you’re in this position. Will make sure nothing happens about this. … I love you.”

A few hours later, the woman allegedly wrote,

“I know you have the best team and there’s nothing to worry about I just want you to know that I’m doing all I can on my end. I also said to tell the judge to know that the origin of the [911] call was to do with me collapsing and passing out and your worry as my partner due to our communication prior.”

One individual has raised doubts about whether these messages will help Majors’ case, because another source, who worked with the artist on an upcoming project even remarked, “It read like a bad Lifetime movie. They look like the text messages of a textbook abused woman.”

The D.A.’s office and representatives for Majors have declined to comment on the latest wave of accusers. However, Chaudhry released yet another statement shortly after the news broke, disclosing that,

“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

Despite the recent arrest on assault charges, rumors are circulating that Marvel Studios has not yet considered removing him from his role as Kang the Conqueror in upcoming MCU projects.

The star was recently part of the Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which marks Majors’ first major appearance as the villainous Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The controversy surrounding the rising star’s alleged assault charge has put his future with Marvel in question. Majors was set to appear as Kang in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and will return to the MCU as a different Kang variant in Loki season 2 later this year.

Disney has enough time to decide on the star’s fate, as The Kang Dynasty is not scheduled to start production until next spring.

However, it is unclear if Majors filmed cameos for upcoming MCU projects, such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Marvels will now remain a part of them. He was also removed from other upcoming projects, including The Man in My Basement and an Otis Redding biopic.

The Texas Rangers also scrapped an ad campaign featuring Majors. WME continues to represent him despite these setbacks. Majors has already been dismissed by his management and PR company and is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.
