Reporters were taken aback when the actor mentioned Val Kilmer, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Elton John, and Jack Lemmon during the trial. Typically, such celebrities are not addressed in UK legal proceedings. Public and media interest has been stirred by the mention of such prominent people in Spacey’s statement.

In a $40 million civil lawsuit, Anthony Rapp, 51, accused Kevin Spacey, 63, of s*xually assaulting him in 1986 when Rapp was 14 years old. Allegations that at a gathering at Spacey’s Manhattan residence, Spacey approached Rapp inappropriately came to light. Rapp alleges that Spacey lifted him off the ground, put him on a bed, and then got on top of him.

Rapp claims he was frozen and felt the weight of Spacey on top of him. In the end, he was able to free himself and leave the flat. However, in New York, a jury decided in October 2022 that Kevin Spacey did not abuse actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was 14. But, the famed actor is again back in court in London.
