Katy Perry Talks In A Derogatory Way About American Idol Contestants
With the new season of the widely watched reality show American Idol, the quest for a new star is already on. The judges and the host Ryan Seacrest are heading to various locations for the auditions. Recently, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While talking about online auditions the Wide Awake singer went on to say-
“You have a lot of kids coming from towns that have, like, one-stop sign, not even a stop light. A lot of kids have never been on an airplane or an escalator. Any of it. They’re just so blown away by how the world is.”
Perry mentions how the contestants are “coming from all walks of life, all over the country. It’s such a beautiful show.” Since the online audition has given access to a large group of contestants coming from different parts of a country, the American singer made a comment while talking to a new contestant, saying, “A lot…have never been on an escalator.”
Recently, Katy Perry mom-shamed a contestant because she married young and had three kids. The singer was shocked and started fanning herself on knowing about the 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe. During the show, the young contestant said,
“If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out,” Sara Beth Liebe said, to which Katy Perry replied in a very derogatory way. The Unconditionally singer said- “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”
When the young singer decided to walk out of the reality show, Katy Perry tried her best to convince her as she requested-
“Sara Beth, I know life is scary, I also know that it’s easier to walk away than to be rejected. But then I also know that you lose out on your fullest potential and I know that you love your family for your kids. I know that as a mother. But remember, self-love is just as big as motherly love. Don’t leave the competition.”
This is not the first time Katy Perry made headlines with her weird behavior as a judge. Previously, she had kissed a young male contestant knowing that he had never kissed a girl.
