The Kardashians star faced some backlash over a comment she made in March.
In an interview with Variety, Kim K talked about women in business and the working women class in general. She asked them to “get your fu**ing a**es up and work“. She said, “It seems like nobody wants to work these days.” The American model faced major backlash over this statement but never justified them until this Monday.
Kim Kardashian finally explained her statement from the Variety Interview
The American socialite finally broke her silence on the statements she made in the Variety interview back in March. In the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, posted on Monday, Kim Kardashian talked about the context of her statements. She said, “The context in that was I had just been doing interviews for the last few weeks on people to work in my office.”
The Kardashians star further explained that the applicants had too many demands when coming in for interviews. For instance, their own working hours and their own day off that suited their time schedules and other engagements. That kind of threw her off because she wasn’t used to demanding such things when she first started working in the industry. She said, “I come from a time when we just grinded.”

The SKIMS founder talked about how she used to work she was younger. She said, “We would just kind of do anything, any job. Get it all together, even if it wasn’t our job, we’d ask for something we just get it done.” She explained how coming from that ‘workaholic mindset‘ when she was younger had affected her interviews. Kim Kardashian felt that her comments were blown out of context. She explained how people took it “like it was coming out of Covid.”
She said that at that time there were some people who actually wanted to work but didn’t get the right opportunities as she had in her youth. The model further said, “So I saw that and I’m super sensitive to that, and if I say something.” She explained how she was not trying to generalize that statement but somehow it ended up sounding like it was generalized.
In other news, Kim Kardashian recently allegedly made her daughter North West delete a TikTok video from her account. The video showed the celebrity’s dogs in her garage for Christmas and this received very angry reactions from people on social media.
