The King’s Man actor Harris Dickinson has not been in the Hollywood entertainment industry for too long. He has been a star on the rise since he debuted as Frankie, a young man struggling with his sexuality, in Eliza Hittman’s drama film Beach Rats in 2017. The fact that he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for this role speaks tons about his acting skills.

Dickinson’s acting prowess is incredible considering he won the Best Young British/ Irish Performer Award at the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards for his role as Frankie. Young as he is, rumors have it that The King’s Man actor is being considered as a replacement of Daniel Craig in the James Bond franchise.

The King’s Man Actor Might Be the Next James Bond

In a recent interview, Scrapper actor Harris Dickinson revealed his interest in playing the spy if given the chance. He has also expressed his concern about being up to the mark given the legacy Daniel Craig has left behind. He said:

I mean, listen, man, you’d be a fool to not entertain that role. I’m loving seeing the development of James Bond and seeing how it changes over the years. I think Daniel Craig was such a good Bond that I’d almost be quite frightened to try. Who knows what they’re doing with Bond? I’m intrigued.

The King’s Man star has been in rumors to play James Bond for more than a year now. Dickinson’s views about playing the role have evidently changed as when he was asked about the rumor a year ago, he had casually dismissed the possibility of landing the role.

There have been quite a couple of big names that are in the run for playing the next James Bond since Daniel Craig quit the franchise. Craig played the role for 5 movies of the franchise that were released between 2006 and 2021. Fans have loved Craig’s James Bond for years. So, there are big shoes to fill.

As talented as he is, the Triangle of Sadness actor is still up against some of the best actors in the industry. From Superman star Henry Cavill to Luther‘s Idris Elba, there have been speculations about a lot of actors who might be replacing Daniel Craig’s James Bond.

However, Idris Elba might not be interested in the role anymore. In an interview on a podcast called SmartLess, Elba said that he felt honored to be considered for James Bond but he is put off by the idea now as it became a matter of race. Nocturnal Animals‘ Aaron Taylor Johnson and Venom‘s Tom Hardy have also been in rumors for the role.
