“Looks so much like a Superman comic”: James Gunn Doubters Will Choke on Their Words After Seeing Promising Set Photos From Superman (2025)
Yesterday, the cameras started rolling for the upcoming James Gunn Superman movie on Superior Avenue in downtown Cleveland. The city is suiting up to become Metropolis, the famous hometown of Superman, for a brand-new film. Pictures online are giving us a sneak peek of what the city will look like all dressed up for its big-screen debut.
The upcoming movie stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan playing the tough reporter Lois Lane by his side. But that’s not all! Fans will also get to see other heroes join the fight, including Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific.

Eagle-eyed fans have also spotted a banner hinting at the Daily Planet’s classic art deco skyscraper with a globe on top. This means that this classic design will be part of the film!

The creators behind the new Superman movie are putting in a lot of effort to make Metropolis look real. In set photos, fans can even see newspaper vending machines outside both the Daily Planet and its rival, the Metropolis Eagle.
Fans might also see a small detail in the Daily Planet’s vending machine — there’s a story by ‘Clark Kent’ and a photo by ‘Jimmy Olsen.’
