Yesterday, the cameras started rolling for the upcoming James Gunn Superman movie on Superior Avenue in downtown Cleveland. The city is suiting up to become Metropolis, the famous hometown of Superman, for a brand-new film. Pictures online are giving us a sneak peek of what the city will look like all dressed up for its big-screen debut.

The upcoming movie stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan playing the tough reporter Lois Lane by his side. But that’s not all! Fans will also get to see other heroes join the fight, including Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific.

Metropolis Comes to Life in Cleveland for James Gunn’s Superman

The city of Metropolis is being built right in front of the Daily Planet building in Cleveland for the upcoming James Gunn‘s Superman. Crews have been busy putting up a giant globe hovering above the entrance a signature detail of the iconic newspaper’s headquarters.

Eagle-eyed fans have also spotted a banner hinting at the Daily Planet’s classic art deco skyscraper with a globe on top. This means that this classic design will be part of the film!

The creators behind the new Superman movie are putting in a lot of effort to make Metropolis look real. In set photos, fans can even see newspaper vending machines outside both the Daily Planet and its rival, the Metropolis Eagle.

Fans might also see a small detail in the Daily Planet’s vending machine there’s a story by ‘Clark Kent’ and a photo by ‘Jimmy Olsen.’

Metropolis isn’t just shiny buildings. Set photos show debris on the streets. It hints at an action-packed scene or disaster for Superman to tackle. And according to fans these pictures “looks so much perfect.”

Of course, these details add a realistic touch that might not even be noticed in the finished movie.

A Glimpse of Superman and Mister Terrific in a Single Frame

Other leaked photos have also given a look at David Corenswet‘s Superman. The pictures show the actor suited up for the first time as the Man of Steel. Clad in the classic Superman suit and cape, the 30-year-old even strikes the superhero’s iconic pose.

Fans also get a glimpse of another superhero in the movie – Mister Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi. Mister Terrific is a smart and athletic hero who uses cool gadgets to fight crime.

Originally titled Superman: Legacy, the movie has been rebranded simply as Superman and is set to be released on 11 July, 2025.
