The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has established a compelling career in the industry with his various versatile portrayals. The actor has gained widespread attention in the notable James Bond movie Casino Royale. The prolific actor and former gymnast, Mads Mikkelsen, says a serious mistake from his carelessness could have potentially ruined his entire career and cost him his iconic role in the movie.

While attending the Zurich Film Festival (via Variety) to promote his movie ‘The Promised Land, the Hannibal star revealed that he left the precious script of the movie Casino Royale on the flight. The actor recalled that he was afraid that he would be blackballed by the industry since his name was printed on the entire page of the script.

“I got the script before I did the casting, and it was the first time I got a script where your name is printed on every page. I fell asleep on the plane, and I forgot it on the plane. I am the reason why they put your name on the script. This is what they’re trying to avoid.”

“But that is obviously a complete disaster if it ends up on the front page of The Sun. I mean, this is the worst way to blow it. I got ahold of those scenes somehow, and I went and did the audition.”
Casino Royle held an immense significance movie in Mikkelsen’s entire career, as the script was particularly important for him because it was his first screenplay where his name was printed on every single page, demanding he had a crucial role in the film. Therefore, losing it, his blockbuster career will be tarnished before it truly begins.

Despite, playing the role of the villain in the popular movie, The Hunt actor in the event admitted that he was completely unfamiliar with the James Bond movies and hardly watched any of them. He even made up the point that he initially lied about it in the audition process.  and said he knew only the “guy with metal teeth (Jaws).”

In the event, he also playfully mocked his character Le Chiffre, by describing him as “The ‘smartest’ Bond villain?  He lost $100 million to a man who couldn’t play poker. Not that smart.” He does highlight the irony that the villain who was portrayed as the master of high stakes poker, lost $100 million to a man who was unexperienced on the spot.

The 21st-century James Bond film Casino Royale, released in 2006, was a huge success at the box office, grossing $616 million worldwide, marking the career-defining introduction for Daniel Craig to the James Bond franchise.
