Peacemaker’s wannabe sidekick, Adrian Chase, AKA Vigilante, is one of the most loving characters in the series, and Freddie Stroma’s chemistry with Cena is undeniable. James Gunn Assures The Return of A Major Peacemaker Character Before Season 2
After lots of worries and speculations, DC finally made its fans happy by announcing a second season for its hit series, Peacemaker. This time again, the new man in charge, James Gunn has happy news for the Peacemaker fans. Gunn confirmed on Threads that Adrian Chase aka Vigilante will be back for more action earlier than expected. Upon being asked when fans will see the character again, Gunn replied, “Probably before Peacemaker Season 2.”
Initially, Gunn had made it clear that he will begin working on the next installment of the series after wrapping up his business with Creature Commandos and Superman: Legacy, due to which, there are no more spoilers about Peacemaker season 2. Both works are officially slated to be the first official entries in the rebooted DCU. According to fans’ speculations and joining the dots with Gunn’s latest spoiler, it is being suggested that the Waller series, which serves as a spinoff of Peacemaker, is a viable option for Vigilante to make a comeback.
Why Has Peacemaker Been One of DC’s Biggest Successes
The raunchy and ultra-violent DC series, Peacemaker, has been a massive success for the DC Studios. The DCEU has been going through rough patches since the release of Man of Steel in 2013. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a treat for die-hard DC fans, while Dwayne Johnson’s debut in Black Adam was also praised.
The release of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and subsequent spinoff, Peacemaker, breathed new life into the DCU, and Peacemaker being declared as the series that declares war on self-serious superheroes, has introduced a new set of twists. But the question is that what makes Peacemaker such a great series?
The biggest share of Peacemaker‘s success goes to creator James Gunn and star John Cena. It is undoubtedly true that the success of Peacemaker and Suicide Squad led to Gunn’s appointment as the new boss of DC Studios, along with Peter Safran and it will be interesting to see what a new DCU looks like under their leadership.
Similar to the career path of Dwayne Johnson, John Cena also rose to popularity during his time with WWE as a professional wrestler. While Cena’s acting career is still in a nascent stage he has found a way to grab the bigger projects with his ability to mix action and comedy as comedy is his strong suit. His character Peacemaker comes with a lot of brutality and also a lot of humor in his attitude and personality. Cena has done complete justice with the role as he bought into the character 1000%.
